Change that oil every 3k or if your dipstick oil is black!
I received these in a timely manner. It was the best deal I can find and it's shipped to my house instead of my going to a local store and getting it. This is brand new and fully sealed, no leaks inside the packaging box. I am happy. This is the name brand I trust for my Mercedes c250 sedan 1.8L with turbo as well as my BMW 328i xdrive sedan. I change my oil every 3k miles now instead of the 8-10k as required because the oil turns black after 4-5k miles. People don't realize this but driving 8-10k miles will hurt your engine and if it has a timing chain it will hurt that too causing it to stretch in the long run and it'll cause that rattling noise and slapping the inside of your valve cover. The chain needs to be lubricated with fresh oil. Both my BMW and Mercedes has a 10k mile oil service interval. I used to change it at 8k. Now I change it at 3k. It's cheaper and faster to change out oil and oil filter than it is to work on the timing chain or engine components.

Audi Preferred and Budget-Friendly
I’ve been using this oil exclusively in my 2015 Audi Q7 Sport Edition for almost 8 years, and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the same oil Audi prefers for their engines, so I know I’m giving my vehicle exactly what it was designed for. Even after all these years, my engine runs smooth, strong, and clean—never a hiccup. What really makes this a no-brainer is the price. Compared to what dealerships charge, it’s an absolute steal. I’ve also priced out other high-quality brands, and none of them come close to the cost-performance ratio of this one. For what you pay, the quality is unbeatable. Oil changes can be a pain, but knowing I’m using the right oil at a fraction of the price takes the sting out of it. I usually buy in bulk to save even more, and the consistency in quality across every bottle has been rock solid.Whether you’re driving an Audi or another European car that calls for this spec, this oil just works. No guesswork, no surprises. It’s the kind of reliability you stick with and clearly, I have.

Better Running Engine and Long Drain Capable
There were three major reasons I chose this oil. First it is robust. It has to be. It has MB-Approval 229.5 and this means it can be drained in typical European fashion which is up to 32,000km (20,00 miles) or 3 years, when the engine is gas and it looks like 1 year or 10,000 miles for diesel, provided the vehicle is setup properly for it and the driving conditions are at their most favorable. Second, it has has a favorable price point in the 5 quart size. Thirdly, it is just as capable of longer drain intervals whether used in a gas or diesel engine, provided the engine is set up for it. My engines, one gas and one diesel, are not set up with oil condition monitoring so I will be guided by good judgement and lab results as to change interval. After I put it in the diesel two unexpected benefits became obvious. The engine, a Mercedes Benz 3.0 turbo diesel, ran much more quietly. By this I mean mechanical noises. Combustion noise in that engine, as heard from inside the car is modest at idle and drops too low to notice just above idle. But to not hear engine mechanical sounds from inside car at all rpm's and loads, immediately following the oil change and staying this way in the weeks to follow, is very impressive. The other benefit is a noticeably smoother idle.I have been doing my own oil changes for just over 40 years and this oil is the best one yet.31 May 2020 Update:I have been running this in the diesel (85 Mercedes 300D) 21 months now. The internal mechanical noises not only went away right after the first oil change with this oil but also stayed away during the entire use interval of 5528 miles to the next oil change a year later. This was a first!!I had noticed, one oil change after another, using various brands of diesel HDEO oils for 15 years, the mechanical noise of the engine would go away after changes only to gradually return in about 2000 miles or so.Another plus came from this being a 0W-40. I noticed that the sound of starter is utterly the same year round now. Cranking as low as -10F sounds like cranking any other day. Nice to think of saving stress on the old starter.Conversely, idle oil pressure, once warmed up, behaves just as it did with 5W-40 before.

Great Product - but 1 week Prime delivery is disappointing
I’ve been using this oil for years on our car that requires German Castrol 0W-40 for extended/extreme conditions. It’s a great oil. I’ve been using GC from new and our car now has 175k miles and the engine is still in amazing shape. I’m sure the oil has had a lot to do with it. It continues to run well and is 100% leak free. It’s good to use recommended oils that meet design specs by the manufacturer and is easy to do when it’s a quality product like Castrol’s synthetic. The only complaint is that Prime membership now promises 1 week Prime deliveries; not 1 Day or 2 Day Prime like it had for years. It’s been hit or miss how quickly this has shipped. Sometimes it comes poorly packaged and bottles are crushed. And often it takes more than 5-7 days to receive it, typically shipping 2 days after it’s ordered. Today it shipped 1 day after order, but instead of taking 7 days promised, Amazon has patted themselves on the back saying “Arriving early” in 6 days instead of 7. For sometime like this it can be important to get it next day, other times I plan ahead. I needed it and I bought a bottle locally instead. I’m undecided on if I’ll keep this extra for next time.
