Q: Do the bristles shed?

Yeah, these are pretty good for the price but they do shed a little.

Q: Are these too thick to apply an acrylic varnish with? They look like they would work for a large piece well

They are pretty good but not exceptional… I find that in order to apply topcoats it’s best to thin the product and apply thin coats with a natural squirrel or badger brush . I use these to prime with Gesso or Blend.

They are soft enough to blend colors.
