Replacement for Sony Remote Control RMT-D251P for DVD recorders

Some of the button's on our old remote were worn out e.g. fast forward etc. didn't think we would be able to get a replacement as we have had recorder for years, but Amazon you've done it again!!!!! come up with the goods, it's brilliant.

I purchased this item to replace the original RMT-D251P remote for my Sony RDR-HXD890 which had broken. As advertised, the item appears to be an authentic Sony product and seems to offer all the functionality of my original remote. However it doesn't have a Timer button. This has been replace by a Menu button, but I have never had an occasion to use this so. However Iby reading through all previous reviews it was discovered that you can get to the timer page by going through the System Menu button so am happy to do that and everything seems to work fine after the first few weeks.

Remote only lasted 11 months when it stopped working. Bought this on 26 April 2018 for my 90-year-old mother. Seller will not exchange or refund money.I bought this remote on good faith thinking it was an original Sony product.Nowhere to be seen any mention of warranty periods, yet seller reply was “Remote controls have a 6 month warranty period.”

The remote I received was not the RMT-D251P. I received model RMT-D250P. It is slightly different. There is no timer button which is the biggest thing for me. I now have to go to the guide or system menu. Not a problem though. Thank you.

Although the remote was an improvement on my old one the menu button didn't work. When I spoke to the supplier she said that it was an updated model and some functions may not work so any replacement would be the same . I said that the advert for the product should say that and she said they were unable to as Amazon limited what they said about the product.

This was bought to accompany a Sony hard disc DVD recorder picked up from a high street retailer for under half price because it lacked box, documentation and remote. We already had one so documentation was no problem, and this remote was exactly the same as the original. A good buy, even adding in the cost of the remote it was less than half price.

I bought this as a replacement for my RMT-D251P and expected it to be pretty much the same. However it doesn't have a Timer button. This has been replace by a Menu button which does absolutely nothing, so I initially thought that I'd wasted my money. However I then discovered that you can get to the timer page by going through the System Menu, so I'm now a happy bunny. It would have been useful to have known this to start with though.

We lost our original remote control and this was bought as a replacement, it works perfectly and delivery was very quick especialy as I live in Ireland
