Clean MCT® is predominantly derived from coconut (100% when possible), however, is complemented with palm kernel only as needed. That is simply determined by global supply and demand. As you know coconut oil and MCT oil are in high demand worldwide and there are factors out of our control at times. Cheaper MCT oils can claim to be 100% coconut derived because they include larger amounts of C10 and C12 (or they simply lie, to be frankly honest). It takes one cup of coconut oil to create just one tablespoon of pure C8 oil. Considering that on a large scale one can easily understand that creating a 100% coconut based pure C8 at scale is easier said (marketed) than done.

To further clarify this topic (which is WIDELY misunderstood across the internet), MCT oil in general is typically sourced from coconut and/or palm kernels. The negative attention towards palm originated from the concerns of the harvesting of the raw material, destroying the habitat of orangutans and other wildlife. This "hatred" towards palm based MCT converted into the misconception that palm was unhealthy and that coconut is somehow superior. This simply is not true. Since the concern of sourcing palm became so popular, organizations have been established to guarantee and regulate the SUSTAINABILITY of the safe and responsible sourcing of this raw material. Regardless that these organizations are in place, many marketers heavily promote their coconut based products - which is not directly a bad thing, however, the misunderstanding across the internet has caused a DRAMATIC demand for coconut based ingredients.

Millions of acres are being burned in the Amazon Rainforest to make room for coconut crops. If the farms do not follow sustainable practices, it’s really detrimental to the environment long term. That being said, the source does not matter when considering the quality of the finished product. The end product as Clean MCT® contains ZERO palm oil or coconut oil for that matter. Just as you can extract vitamin C from lemons or green pepper, you can extract C8 from coconut or palm kernel. Is this octanoate only no glycerol correct? Just the fatty acid (C8)?

I think the person asking this question is asking if the product is a triglyceride or not.  They want to know if there is a glycerol backbone connected to 3 fatty acids.  So there is glycerol, which is probably a good thing, because without it octanoate would, I assume, be rather basic.  It might not even be feasible production-wise, without making it into an octanoate salt...
