It's great. It just worked.
I bought this to record from my birdbox camera to my laptop (mac). I didn't use the software that came with it, but used OBS instead. It just worked. I'm really pleased with it. OBS took the feed and I could record the birds in the nest then fledging. Plugged it into the laptop, set it up as a video source in OBS, and started recording immediately. Even better, with OBS you can very easily stream to the internet and record the feed at the same time using this device. Best £10 I've spent in ages! Definitely recommend.

Value for money
Took a while to work out the correct settings but it works ok. Good for the price.

Does not import stereo
Video is captured fine- I tried with composite without issue. My system was Mac and I used Quicktime to import from a DV camera. However, it does not import audio in anything other than mono, so you will lose stereo audio from DV tapes (in fact, they are recorded in 4 channels). This is very disappointing and not accurately stated in the description. If you use this method for capturing DV tapes, you are losing out on the digital source, fine, as the difference is minimal on video, however, losing stereo is quite a big (and noticeable) drawback. The sound is flat and nowhere near good as source in stereo.

Doesn't work
I think because there are millions made cheaply, the manufacturer does not test to see if thier items work. These sort of items at this price are a risk to buy as 3 out of 5 don't ever work!

Not good quality
The media could not be loaded. Don’t know if it was just the device I had but it would work ok for bits but then it would lose colour and be grayscale for bits or have a green flicker at the top of the screen. Playback on the camera was fine so that wasn’t the issue. I used the supplied software and third party software to test on both Mac and windows but the problem continued. I ensured the settings were correct (PAL with correct frame rate and resolution). I also tried different cables.Setup was ok if you know a bit about IT. Very old basic version of software provided for Windows only.I ordered a slightly more expensive one which worked fine so must be the device.Set back for refund. Would advise to spend a little more for better quality.

Worked fine. Accurate digitisation of your media - good or bad.
Worked as well as could be expected. I used OBS instead of the supplied software. Results are dependent on your VHS recorder and the quality of the recording. Don't expect miracles.
