No pain, more gain!
I love this. No pain = better, longer practice! My cheapo violin kit came with a standard looking chin rest that grapples the base of the tailpiece. Not only was this position not comfortable for me, it also had a hard lip that dug into my jaw and bruised me with even minor pressure. This piece covers a wider range and doesn't have a high, sharp ridge - nicely softened contours. It was well worth the wait to get it. My practice has improved immensely

Above and Beyond Center Mounted Chin Rest
Title says it all. I struggled to with comfort for over a year. I'm 5' and am used to things not fitting and adapting. The violin is one of the few places where adapting can affect playing. I couldn't even use the shoulder rest because of the discomfort. Until the day I bought this. I didn't even know there was such a thing. I was lucky enough to hear a fellow student ask the guest violinist about her chin rest as she had noticed it looked a little different. I figured it's not that expensive so I'd try it as she too was small and said it helped. Wow, who knew such a small adjustment would have such huge impacts! I can even use a shoulder rest now too! It is so comfortable playing and now it's always positioned right and my playing has improved because same position makes muscle memory happen more easily because even a small degree of angling the violin can impact playability when learning. If you find discomfort is an issue or can't get the right position or are small stature, don't think about getting this side mount chin rest. It's seriously the best investment you can make and it's very inexpensive and easy to install. So there's no reason not to.

Comfortable Chin
I am very pleased with this chin rest. It was easy to install and it sits to the side of the tail piece which has made it so much more in line with the contour of my chin. My old chin rest was positioned in the center and actually caused a lot of pain and discomfort to my chin while playing and my chin was sore for days afterwards. I highly recommend this product if you are experiencing chin pain and discomfort.

A Plastic Chinrest That Does Its Job
This is a fine chinrest that is especially helpful to those that are allergic to the metals used in most chinrests. I had a student that was hopelessly sensitive to metals near the neck region. It doesn't matter if it was nickel platted or chrome plated as massive rashes will break out. So I offered to get this for my student and install it. Quite a simple and inexpensive way to solve a rather disastrous problem for a yearning student. I have to say that the installation cannot be simpler. It does not have the usual vertical screw mechanism that requires a clamp wrench like traditional chinrests. It instead uses a set of Phillips screws at the bottom of the apparatus. This really makes installation a breeze. Not only that, the cushion for the chinrest are integrated! One does not need to hold the chinrest with the cushion at the same time. Installation took much less than 5 minutes. Of course, durability cannot be compared with the traditional chinrest design. This type of chinrest has multiple joints and even more parts, while the fastening system for the traditional chinrest only has two hinges on each side and a total of four moving parts. This mechanism does have a rattle before the screws are fastened, and the fact that everything is plastic doesn't comfort me. The design can definitely be improved as far as durability is concerned. However, I cannot be happier as it did save the learning career of an allergic student at a price no more than the cost of a traditional chinrest. The Good: - hypoallergenic - the mounting system is easy to use - price is on par with the traditional chinrest The Bad: - the mounting system is a bit heavy on plastic The Mediocre: - none

Excellent design 👌
This chinrest is comfortable and versatile. It feels good and looks good. It has a simple and elegant design. Don't let the material put you off. The mounting style is nice and the feet can be moved according to your preference. It's also hypoallergenic if you have metal allergies. It's also lightweight compared to a traditional Ebony and metal chinrest.

I love it!
I've struggled for years with a center mount chin rest. The metal parts dug into my collarbone and made it uncomfortable to play without band-aids or some padding there. This chin rest solves that problem both with the side mount and the attachment parts aren't metal. Also, they're relatively flat. I had to adapt the chin rest cover I had to fit this, by sewing a new back on it. I couldn't find one to buy. (Someone should make one.) The cover keeps the bottom of the violin from digging into my collarbone. It's great to be comfortable again.

Good product!
I brought this item by accident because I already have an exact same one, so I will have to return it. But it is a great chin rest nevertheless, especially for people who have a hard time finding something that works for them ( I was one), I highly recommend to try this one out. It is smooth and flexible on the violin.

Mi sento molto più a mio agio e la mentoniera si appoggia sotto il collo senza quella sensazione spigolosa che avevo con la precedente. Soddisfatto.

I love this chin rest, the fittings are so easy to use and it is unbelievably comfortable. Probably the most comfortable chin rest I have ever had on a violin, and I have played many!! Cannot recommend it highly enough. Beautifully manufactured too.

Easy set-up (though be careful with that screw-driver, it can do some serious damage!) Exactly as described. I personally find it much more comfortable than my Guarneri style chinrest, but preferences may vary. Use this if you frequently find yourself moving your chin towards the centre of the violin instead of keeping it firmly at the side.
