Q: What is wrapped around the bar? Is it a beige fabric?

There is nothing wrapped around the bar. Just clear plastic.

Q: If you zoom in you'll see that there definitely is something wrapped around the bar. it looks like suede to me. could it be a suede ribbon??

The picture does make it look like there is something wrapped around the bar, but the combs are just clear plastic.

Q: How long are the teeth on these combs?

The teeth alone are 1-3/8 inches. From the base to the end of the teeth is 1-5/8 inches. The comb is just under 3-1/2 inches wide. This is a nice quality comb in my opinion.

Q: Are these combs plastic? Is the color brown?

These appear to be dark brown.. Mine are dark, but I know they make large combs, small combs, extra long combs, in both tortoise ( brown), and clear. They are plastic, they hold really well, I have several different kinds to manage my long, fine hair. You might want to look at the different styles the Good Hair Days brand offers.
