Q: how long will this product keep for

Officially it has a best before of 12 months from production, but if stored in a cool, dry place out of sunlight it should last much longer in reality. In the unlikely event that the birds haven't scoffed the lot well before that and you feel it has dried out a bit adding a little vegetable oil and mixing in will help rejuvenate it.

Q: Why- when so many reviews report broken tubs arriving, has packaging not been improved?? Recvd mine today... In broken tub.

I have been buying this product direct from Twootz regularly for a number of years and have noticed an improvement to the packaging as i too initially was receiving broken tubs however I must say that all the tubs i,ve received recently have been intact a have been well wrapped in thick bubble wrap. Twootz are now packaging the paste (5kg size) in cardboard boxes rather than plastic tubs ( direct from them) to save on plastic which is a great idea.

Please note that the image on ebay showing the BBD of 02/2016, when zoomed in on, is a photo taken of the product when it was first listed, hence the old date on the label, we do not update the image every batch. I can assure you that all UPB sold by Twootz is well within it's BBD as it is a very fast seller and we rarely have stock more than 1-2 months from manufactured date. Typically UPB will have a best before date of 12 months from date of manufacture but if kept in optimal conditions it is very likely to last a good deal longer, IF the birds give you that chance of course!
