Introducing Melanie Klein: A Graphic Guide (Graphic Guides)

This little book is very dense and covers the biographical info and historical context of Klein's work, it explains major concepts from her work and her place in the psychoanalytic/psychodynamic traditions.

nice little book. I'm a Lacanian though!!!!! Obviously these books can't adequately present these schools of thought, but nevertheless, its a nice little book.

I used it with my class in a psychoanalytic institue. It was amusing and easy to understand.

A gem of a book. Well illustrated and succinct in distilling complex theory into digestible thought. It is extremely useful. Enjoy. I did.

Very good intro about Melanie's Klein life and work. Recommend it to anyone unfamiliar to kleinian theory.

Dr. Hinshelwood, one of the world's leading proponents of Kleinian psychoanalysis, has produced an interesting and readable synopsis of the work of the noted psychoanalyst, Melanie Klein. Often difficult to understand, Mrs. Klein's work is centred on the intrapsychic aspects of human development. This slim volume allows the reader an opportunity to appreciate some of the more complex aspects of Kleinian thought.Having digested Dr. Hinshelwood's excellent text entitled "Clinical Klein", I found the visual depictions in "Introducing Melanie Klein" of some of the same cases described in his other work to be helpful and clarifying.I would recommend any interested reader pick up both volumes and use the "Introducing..." book as a quick reference guide to the "Clinical..." text.

This book gives an excellent overview of Klein's theory. It nicely puts it in context and connects her work to other theoreticians. It is concise but deep.

Good enough publication. Whether or not it will persuade any in the theories and practice of Klein, not sure.

Unusual presentation, but gives some basic information.

A very accessible little read which gives quite an overview of her often baffling theories and helps to make them somewhat more understandable
