If you machine wash and dry them, how did that work out?

Hi,
If you did what you said, the pillow case may shrink and cotton fibers are fragile and wares out fast from oils, friction, sunlight and heat, it have a great influence on the lifespan of the pillowcase. To make your pillow case last, keep it out of direct sunlight, washing machines, hot water and never wring it out, instead hand wash or wash them in cold on a normal cycle/delicate cycle/gentle cycle in a lingerie bag and tumble-dry it on low, gently squeeze out most of the water, roll the case in a clean towel and gently stand/walk on it to squeeze the rest of the water out, hang to air dry. Besides, the zipper will be more easily damaged unless washing or drying by error. We recommend washing your pillow protectors quarterly. Please don’t worry about the quality. Does anyone know what is the material of this pillow cases, how soft it is or how thick it is?

would these be good to tie dye?

These pillow cases are all-cotton, but the fabric is very thin.  Which might make them easy to scrunch up for tie-dying.  If you’re using hot water to tie-dye however, they will shrink.   That’s my one criticism of these cases - they really shrink if you don’t wash them in cold water...Hope this answers your question somewhat...
