Q: Will this work in a area 560?

no idea, I used it in a Garmin 665

Q: is this an actual garmin battery and not a knockoff?

Mine was an actual Garmin, I purchased it December 23, 2015 and the date code of manufacture on the battery is 11/18/2013 (2 years old from manufacturing to purchase) . I tried to return it but I was directed to Garmin for a replacement.

Q: Will this battery work for a Zumo 550?

No, it's a totally different in size and design.

Q: WHAT IS THE PACKING DATE ON THE BATTERY? THE REASON I ASK IS THAT I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT HAD A 2010 DATE ON IT AND IT WOULD NOT TAKE A CHARGE.

I had the same issue. I was directed directly to Garmin when contacting the seller and I ultimately gave up on it and still have the battery.
