Good build quality and nice sound
Had problems with the Behringer UMC404HD with Ableton Live so invested in the Rubix 44 and since then had no problems with compatibility, cracks/pops or latency. Good build quality and nice sound. Can’t compare to some of its competitors but would highly recommend and you certainly get what you pay for compared to cheaper alternatives… Making music is enjoyable again!! Thanks Roland!

Excellent Quality Product
I purchased this to replace a focusrite, it's absolutely perfect, couldn't be more pleased and a shockingly low price, Roland are a world leader and I have Roland gear going back to the 80's, , totally recommend. Latency is pretty much nothing (used with Mac) direct monitoring can be switched to mono on 1/2 or 3/4 so if you had a problem with processing power the direct monitor is excellent.

Great build quality and great sound but stopped working after 2 weeks
Really great build quality. Great sound. Quick and easy setup with my MacBook. Updated: Returning this as it stopped working after 2 weeks. Seemed fine until then though. Faulty model.

A good interface for a small home studio
I bought it for voice and guitar recording and was also looking for a device with midi connectivity to use along with my electric piano. This interface was easy to configure, I did not have any issues (besides maybe I did not know that loopback must be turned off to make it work right with DAW). Works well with Ableton. I saw some comments that it was crashing, but most likely they are outdated, I haven't seen any crash along with Ableton 11.

Perfect for linking to a Mac Book Pro and GarageBand
Great unit for being able to play and record guitar into a GarageBand track. Haven't used the microphone input yet but will try later. Control is simple and its pure plug and play when connected to my Mac Book Pro. No additional power source needed as it powers via the USB/C-Type connection to the PC. If you're using the newer apple PC (like me) then you'll need a USB to C-Type converter cable which can be got for less than a fiver on Amazon. Its a great unit from Roland, and I'm happy with it.

Perfect Linux Audio Interface
Shockingly perfect audio interface for music production on Linux. It is a truely class-compliant interface; connect and power on, it is immediately recognised, identified and enumerated. JACKd correctly identifies all four inputs and outputs as well as the MIDI in and out ports. Using the Carla plugin host, I was able to patch MIDI input from my USB M-Audio Keystation 61 MK3 keyboard to my Korg Volca Keys analogue synth to simultaneously control the Volca from both the keyboard and software MIDI sequencers. The built-in compressors (two per input pair) and limiter (one per input pair) are independant of software control, and are selectable by physical switches. Thus no drivers are needed to access these additional features, a definite blessing. And of course, direct monitoring means the computer doesn't need to be on at all to listen to the inputs. Instant love from me, and I am going to sing this Roland Rubix44 far and wide.

Worst Interface I Have Ever Used
This is hands down the worst audio interface I have ever used. I bought this to have some extra inputs, moving from a 3rd gen focusrite with 2 inputs to this Roland Rubix 4 input. The first thing to note is that this is not plug and play like the focusrite - there is software to download and its not the easiest thing to navigate. Once this is installed there are a multitude of issues. It's impossible to use discord with this interface as you either have a working microphone or a working speaker - not both! When using the interface in Ableton there is constant crackling sounds, the latency is actually very high compared to the focusrite to the point where I had to not use the rubix driver, but used Asio4all instead. I am genuinely shocked at how bad this interface is for a Roland product. No end of issues, doesnt work properly in bandlab, ableton it just about works, anything else, forget it. Its far to complex and I deeply regret moving from focusrite.

Excellent product
So what I like about this over the last interface I bought (M-Audio 192/6) is the headroom. It shows clip lights when there is still plenty of room left, where as the latter makes clip sounds. This interface shows a red light but doesn't digitally clip, meaning it can handle louder sounds going in. Perfect for the hardware user that will justvplug their mixer out straight in for recording. I wish I had seen this product first.
