This noise indicator was designed for use in environments where noise varies. This ear protection device identifies possible hazardous noise level and in return alert workers when hearing protection devices (HPDs) may be required to don. Green flashing LED signifies that noise levels are below 85 dB and HPDs need not be worn. Red flashing LED however indicates that noise levels are above 85 dB and require workers to wear HPDs. The device is small and lightweight (.6 oz.) that can be easily clipped to a shirt or jacket. It includes a rechargeable battery that operates for up to 200 hours between charges. If the device is not manually powered off, it will automatically shut down after 10 hours. Dimensions: 2" L x 1.4" W x 0.5" D. This is an economical and effective training investment within a hearing conservation program (consult OSHA Standard 1919.95) that is guaranteed to help workers know when and where to wear hearing protection.
