Our new go-to rice cooker!
We eat rice multiple times a week. I’ve been making it for years in the pot (which works great) but decided to give this affordable rice cooker a try. It’s very simple, small, and easy to use clean. Rice is consistently perfect. The machine easily fits in our cabinet. Surprisingly small which is great b/c I don’t have much storage space.

Easy To Use Rice Cooker Works Great!
I do all the cooking, and for years have cooked all kinds of rice in a regular pot. But we moved about a year and a half ago and inherited a induction stove in the new house. It's been a slow adjustment for me and rice in particular was causing me heartburn. This inexpensive cooker solved the problem. Makes perfectly cooked rice every time.

Works great! Just what I needed.
Well, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong. Put in the proper rice, wash it a bit. Leave the proper amount of water so the rice is soft and not crunch in the middle(I really hate it when that happens). So far every batch has been perfect. Just a touch of extra water does the trick. As long as it keeps working for a good long time we will be very happy together. It is small, but it cooks the rice up pretty fast. The only think you can't do is once it's done you can't just leave it on warm. The rice will definitely get burned on the bottom. It's better to take it out, or at least unplug it when it's done. You're suppose to let it sit for a while because it supposedly still cooks for a bit after done, but I haven't found any problems with eating it as soon as it's done. Good stuff. Don't let it burn. 5 stars.

Small and mighty
This is a good, affordable, and easy-to-use rice cooker. No crazy buttons like some of the ones I have used in the past from Japan lol, just cook or warm. However, I am giving this review 4 stars because as much as I love it and as much as it has made my life easier when prepping rice, I do think the price and quality shows up here and there. First issue I have noticed: I have never been able to get the automatic sensor to work when cooking my rice. The first time I cooked rice with this thing to make a burrito bowl, I left it on for a bit thinking it would shut off by itself once the water evaporated, but it didn't. Thankfully I didn't burn my rice but it did crisp up and brown a bit on the bottom. Perhaps it's something I am doing, or maybe it's just the model or even my outlet, but as far as I am aware this is supposed to shut off automatically. I don't walk away from this thing while it's cooking so what I do now is just before the rice is done, I turn it to warm (like say a minute or two before it's fully cooked) and let it sit and steam off any remaining moisture, which works out perfectly for me. Second issue: also in my testing I discovered that adding at least a 2:1 ratio of water to rice with oil or butter results in perfect, fluffy, tender, restaurant quality rice every time. AGAIN this may be a personal issue - elevation, weather, water quality, who knows. I'm in Los Angeles so perhaps being so close to the ocean and the local hard water is doing something to my rice. But when I was doing 1:1 or 1.5:1 ratios of water to rice, my rice would be slightly underdone even when fully cooked. Like not crunchy but just a touch bit al dente. I only like al dente when making fried rice as the kernels hold up better when you're beating at them and pushing them around in a skillet, but for curries, bowls, and other applications I like my rice soft and fluffy. Even with more delicate rice like Jasmine or Basmati, I get the most amazing results with 2 cups of water vs just 1. Other than that this is perfect. It's super easy to clean; literally just run it under warm water and any left over rice slides right out. It's also small and cute and portable. For a single person or even a small family I think most people will enjoy having this in their kitchen. If you're more picky or don't mind spending a little more money on fancier options like steaming, brown rice, etc, I recommend upgrading to a Japanese rice cooker.

Rinse Babe Rinse!
I’m surprised makers of rice cookers don’t put the following in bold type surrounded by a box.: You must rinse the rice thoroughly or the starch will boil up in your cooker will probably cause overflow. And just a quick rinse under the tap or even with a spray hose won’t do it. Here’s the best way to do it. It works 100% and you’ll learn something. put the rice in the cooker or in a separate bowl cover it with a good inch of water. see how clear the water is. now stir with a spoon and watch it get cloudy. Watch non-rice particles float to the surface. Drain. Do it at least 3 more times until the stirred water is less cloudy. I do it four times. Your rice is now ready for any sized cooker and it won’t cause overflow because you rinsed off the starch. The rice will be less sticky and fairly perfect. This unit does great. The bowl is definitely nonstick and if you rinse the rice, it cooks it perfectly.

Game-Changer for Perfect Rice Every Time!
After contemplating the purchase of a rice cooker for some time, I finally took the plunge when my daughter requested sushi for her born day dinner. I chose the Aroma Housewares 1.5Qt. Rice & Grain Cooker, in black, and let me tell you, it has completely transformed my cooking experience! This little appliance is nothing short of amazing. After cleaning the rice, I simply add the appropriate amount of water, secure the lid, and flick the lever. That’s it! No more standing over the stove, anxiously watching the pot to prevent burning or overflowing. The cooker takes care of everything, allowing me to focus on preparing the rest of the meal. The rice comes out perfectly cooked every time – fluffy, tender, and just the right amount of moisture. The 1.5Qt capacity is perfect for our family’s needs, making it easy to prepare enough rice for sushi rolls, stir-fries, or even simple side dishes. Cleanup is a breeze too. The non-stick inner pot is easy to wash, and the compact design means it doesn’t take up much space on my countertop. Overall, I can't recommend the Aroma Rice & Grain Cooker enough. It has simplified my meal prep and made cooking rice a no-fuss task. If you're on the fence about getting one, trust me – it’s worth every penny! My daughter’s sushi born day dinner was a hit, and I look forward to using this fantastic cooker for many meals to come!

This has been working well for me. Definitely recommended for the price. I’d never owned a rice cooker before a few tips i learned online were important in using it: -Rinse the rise before cooking until the water runs clear. Unrinsed rice tends to boil over because of the starch -A teaspoon of margarine or a small amount of oil will also prevent boil-overs. -I’ve found that a quick stir mid way through cooking prevents overcooked grains
