Perfect external hard-drive. We have several them now - a few of these, and 3 of the Toshiba 2TB - and use them to store documents; photos (we shoot in RAW so each photo is around 35MB which eats up memory FAST); an entire library of MP3s; and hundreds of movies. The transfer rate is pretty fast considering the amount of data we're transferring, and loading times are super-fast, so when I hook it up to my laptop, it can read the files instantly, which is pretty cool considering the sheer amount of data it's holding. External hard-drives are coming down in price even as storage is going up, but you can't go wrong with this Toshiba. It's a reliable brand, at a good price, with perfect functionality. As I said, as we've needed to order more, we ordered another here and there to test them, but always come back to this one, as it's the best we've found.

I purchased this to store a range of files to use on my MacBook. I often work between computers (all MacOS) but also work on the move. I needed a new portable hard drive and after researching for a while decided to go for this Toshiba 1TB drive. It is small, smaller than any of my other portables, which is very handy and a big plus. Initially the drive was set as Windows NT file system. It was simple enough to erase and format the driver to make it Mac OS. Overall this is a good little portable hard drive, and one that I would recommend to others. Just make sure to note that if you are using it with MacOS then it does need to be reformatted beforehand or it will not allow you to transfer any files to it.

This is a good product,and works well,but will not work with windows 11 ,so be careful if you upgrade your pc,but store your old stuff you want to transfer on here,it WONT WORK.

I found this to be reliable, Easy to set up and use, had a high performance, was fast, and had plenty of space to use for backing up my computer.

I bought this Toshiba external storage drive to hold stuff that I wouldn't use everyday on the desktop, and it hasn't let me down so far ! So useful for storing .mp3's, .mp4's, .pdf's...etc. Whenever I require something that I know I've got stored away on this drive, it's there ! I tend to use this as a sort of library, containing information I once required from the internet, downloaded it for use or learning, and then stored away on this drive so it doesn't 'clog-up' my desktop internal drive space ! Extremely handy for storing away knowledge for use whenever I require it !! Speed of the drive is decent for my use, USB cable included to attach to a desktop, PC, Laptop etc. - cable is a little short I would have to add, TAKE NOTE TOSHIBA - space is adequate to keep plenty of information on for various types of 'libraries' of information. In fact, I've got at least three of these 1TB external drives storing a lot of info for when I need it ! In the old days we had book libraries...now I've got loads more info stored away on these drives, saving so much on desktop space ! If you have kids who use a PC, ( and let's face it, who doesn't ?! ), maybe getting them used to storing away their school info on something like an external storage drive would help them greatly come exam time ! Bought this to replace a failed 500 gb usb 2 hard drive. Couldn't believe how small and lightweight this was compared to to the old drive. Plugged it into my Panasonic 65"OLED Smart TV and after formatting was good to go. Cable is quite short but long enough to allow me to secure the drive to the back of my TV using Velcro. So far I am extremely pleased with this drive. It is incredibly fast and responsive when playing, pausing and rewinding. I love being able to skip through all the adverts which have come to plague our TV viewing experience. So far I cannot fault this drive. There were a lot of negative comments in the reviews and you will have to make your own decision but its 5 stars from me.
