Deep and Dark SubSoundz [Techno/Ambient]
The Eris Sub 8 absolutely KICKS. I’m running a full hardware rig—everything from the Erica Synths Perkons Hd-01 and Moog DFAM/Soma Lyra 8 and Sonicware Liven Ambient O—all through a Zoom L-12. This sub handles the raw power of analog synthesis and Eurorack levels like a champ. For modular gear, the output is on ANOTHER LEVEL. It delivers that deep, dark, and heavy low-end you need for hardware jams, but here’s the best part: it stays crystal clear. It’s punchy, not muddy. If you need a sub that can handle the aggressive transients of a RAT distortion pedal or the sub-harmonics of an Oxi One sequence, look no further. You can dial it in exactly to your ears. 10/10 for any hardware-based studio.

Much better mixes
I got this for my home studio and after using it to finish three songs since getting it, I can say I was definitely handicapped trying to produce and mix without a sub. I have the sub paired with my Presonus Eris 5 speakers. The songs I've produced using the sub vs. without the sub have translated much better across various speaker systems and my low end is much tighter and easier to manage. Also, when it comes to sound design, I can make much deeper and higher quality sub bass synth patches because I can actually hear and feel what I'm doing. I'd recommend using a calibrated room microphone and an acoustic room response calibration software to calibrate the sub and your speakers to your specific room as well. I found for my room I could just leave the sub in it's default configuration out of the box, but the settings on the back of the sub allow for some really nice fine tuning to get a nice flat response after accounting for the room response. Lastly, I really like the Bluetooth capability for casual listening and it works well if you only pair it with one device, but I found that if you want to switch between devices you have to press and hold the Bluetooth button on the back of the sub for it to connect to a different device each time despite already being paired. It connects automatically without that step if you just connect and use one BT device consistently with it. Kind of a weird and somewhat annoying quirk, but I don't really use the Bluetooth for anything but connecting my phone to the speaker system for leisure listening, and I only occasionally connect my laptop. For music production though, I use balanced TRS cables routed to my audio interface because the Bluetooth can add a significant amount of latency to the signal chain. In summary, if you already have Eris speakers and want to gain the valuable information your ears need to have great low end in your mixes I'd say this sub is a no brainer and worth every penny.

Perfect for my beginner studio.
Purchased this sub to round out my PreSonus 3.5 speakers and to get the bluetooth capability that comes with it. So far, it's great. It has completely rounded out the sound of my system and also lets me play all my stuff from my phone. Everything I needed and asked for. Great sound!

Great little subwoofer for music.
Very accurate and responsive bass. Extremely tight within its frequency range. Lacks a little of very low end, but it’s superb quality bass reproduction. If you have a large room and like loud bass that you can feel, I would look elsewhere. If you’re just looking for a responsive and accurate subwoofer for music, and your room is appropriate for it, I highly recommend. Works flawlessly and easy to set up. I did find that that crossover made my bookshelfs sound worse, so I didn’t use it. Just might be my taste. You know how audio is.

Good except for Bluetooth functionality
Several items to share. I purchased this with a pair of Presonus Eris 4.5BT monitors as well. First, many people don't realize these are studio monitors, and purchase them to use as a 2.1 system in a small setup, or as main speakers for an audio setup. One thing to realize is that studio monitors are not intended to make your music sound "good", they are intended to make it sound "true", the was that it is currently mixed. It's often said if you can make your mix sound good on monitors, it will sound good on anything. Many people are looking for deep base or boosted highs and are disappointed when they don't get that. If you are looking for monitors, these are very good for the money. For comparison, I also have a pair of Eris 3.5BTs, a pair of JBL 305P MkIIs, and a pair of Adam Audio T7Vs paired with an Adam Audio T10S sub, which I use all of for mixing, with the Adams as my main. In all fairness though, I really did purchase these to use as standard speakers on a computer, and only occasionally as monitors. Perhaps the most disappointing thing is that both the monitors and the sub have Bluetooth, but Windows has no easy way of outputting sound to both at the same time, so I have a BT connection to the sub, but TRS from the sub to the monitors. I would love to have seen this disclosed up front. I would also love to have had some sort of dedicated software to handle the simultaneous output, similar to what Samsung does for their phones. In theory I could make this work with Voicemeeter, which can create a virtual audio device that outputs to multiple audio interfaces, but the only reason I think this is because I can connect both via Bluetooth, and from Control Panel can play sound to either without changing the default windows output device, but it's a lot of work to get that set up. For now, the monitors will remain wired to the sub and I will hope Presonus decides to make something happen. Oh, one last thing to be aware of. In this configuration, you give up the use of the volume control on the front of the monitors since it doesn't control the sub. Instead, you end up balancing the system at a reasonably high volume and then resorting to using your keyboard volume controls.

Quality matters, don’t be fooled this…
Great quality, design build and sound !

Combined with a smaller set of monitors that can't do low frequencies as well, this really helps add depth to the sound. would absolutely recommend.
