Great Food
It's a little bitter for me but our African Cichlid, Louis, loves it!

Only food I'll buy for my African Cichlids
This is the only food I've found that is well formulated for my Malawi cichlids. This is an all vegetarian food just like they would obtain in the wild. Healthy and happy fish!

Great, quality food for healthy fish
My Mbuna cichlids love this veggie based food. I couple it with Excel Floating as well to get the shy and smaller guys on the bottom some food. Larger more aggressive guys get the stuff at the top. Try soaking your pellets for a couple minutes, help for easier digestion. Hits the water and they're gobbled up immediately leaving no uneaten food to make a mess. Great product.

Great for mbunas
My mbunas eat this stuff up. I like the sinking pellets as floating foods go into skimmer. Probably not the best option for all cichlids like South American since they want more protein.

good food
my cichlids love it very good food had no problems good price even my baby convicts can eat this because it is very small. for Oscars doesn't work to small. sinks right away not slow sinking like others doesn't cloud water doesn't leak dye like the red food does. overall 5 stars.

Newb to Cichlids
I bought this and several other fish foods for my cichlid tank. My Gold Severum, Tiger Oscar, Pink Kissing Gourami don't seem too interested in sinking food. However my Electric Blue Jack Dempsey has taken a liking to it suddenly and my Buenos Aries Tetras seem to really like it too. I'm finding I'm not a big fan of sinking food for long term feeding though.

Fish thriving
Have used Hikari for about 8 years. Used larger carnivore pellets on South American Cichilds (Oscars) until the second of two died recently (water problems, not food). I transitioned my tank to African Cichlids abt 6 months ago and began using a combo of Hikari floating and the sinking herbivore small pellet. So far so good. All 9 have survived, seem healthy, and one female (thought had all male) has cross-bred and raised 13 fry, 2-3 each time, in 4 months.
