Amazing book
Am glad I got my hands on this book. The author is talented and has a flair for writing. The detail description of every small incident and happenings, was a treat. Hard to believe there was so much going on in the mind of someone so bold and confident. But I guess we all have a skeleton in our closet. Immensely glad she has been able to finally put it down in a book, which is an eye opener and will help others who deal with similar situations. Admire the support of her family, especially hubby dear. Love and luck, my dear .......

Inspiring
Liana had to endure so much at such a tender age. Its not easy fighting the demons and not having anyone to confide. Her story' is so relatable and am so happy she found the love and support of her life. Its true you never know what one hides behind the smile and one is also not open to take help. Your book will definitely help these people. It may have taken her long to come to terms with what had happened but i am happy she has found a way to let it go. Keep inspiring and must say takes lot of guts to write your story.

Must read
Such a touching read! And written just from the heart. The reader is left yearning to have known Jehan, yet there's a lingering feeling that we do know him now. The raw emotion and the depth of sorrow and the challenges overcome are so clear, it's heart breaking and also reflects great strength on the part of the author to have shared this part of her heart with the whole world. Hats off to you!

Poignant memoir
My World Without Jehan is a poignant memoir of a sister in particular, and a family in general as they survive the suicide of a young boy in their family. This is also a memoir of childhood, of a typical middle class Indian family with their attitudes and behaviour relatable to many readers today. The best thing about the memoir is how realistic it is. There's no attempt at raising Jehan on a pedestal. He is presented to the reader exactly as he was. And the thrust of the book is on the writer's life after Jehan, about her fears, her dilemmas and her angst in the wake of her brother's death.

Beautiful
Writing one's own story opens up once again the good and bad..the victories and the scars are revisited..But the courage, grace and intention to help and heal self and others inevitably surface...an emotional roller coaster read...advocated for those who dare to be authentic in a world of fake.

Unputdownable!
A compelling narrative style, a montage of people and places - life , love , laughter and loss - it’s all there! This coming-of-age novel effortlessly intersperses intensely sorrowful moments with the author’s unique brand of wry humour. Refreshingly, if brutally, honest.

Helpful book for painful journy.
I always wanted to know how the siblings react after losing their deer one. Their pain is different from mother but its life long. and this book is definitely going to help help my daughter.

Well written and thought provoking
The author takes you on a journey through her childhood, into her teenage years, and beyond. She shares her experiences of people and events that touched her life. The narration is light and well paced keeping the reader engaged. The author brings out the depth of her 'characters' in their various human shades, and doesn't shirk from questioning motives and intentions... including her very own... being brutally honest each time. This is especially refreshing in an age where social media and photoshopped personalities rule. This invites the reader to delve deeper, and invokes contemplation.I'm a slow reader, and read the book over a few weeks. Each time I put it down, I found myself waiting to get back to it. Even after I had finally finished it, it continued to linger in my mind in coming days... to me, a sure sign that a book or movie was time well spent.

A Wonderful Book about Loss and Survival
This is the story of a family and the loss of a brother to suicide. Told from the perspective of the younger sister, it is a deeply moving story of family, of loss, of love and of acceptance. Jehan is a flamboyant figure, popular with friends and family, plays in a rock band, loves to bake. Yet he is possessed of the demons of his sexuality, something he and his family accept but are not able to find ways to discuss. The story is provocative and untiringly honest. It is gut wrenching and moving. The story flows. It moves. It is never dull.Like most stories of suicide, there are warnings, there are cries for help. This is a book anyone who has survived the suicide of a loved one will recognize and find comfort in. And for those that haven’t, it is a guide to understanding and and recognizing perhaps responding more quickly to the warnings and cries for help. This is a book everyone should read.

Honest, poignant and beautifully written
I read this book recently and it continues to haunt me. Losing a loved one to suicide is a heavy topic and it leaves its mark on family members, each of whom deal with it in different ways. Some like the author choose to express their anguish and others, perhaps bury it deep and never want to discuss it. Either way, no one is untouched by grief and guilt. The book wasn’t all dark though-there were moments of levity and a grace that came with acceptance as the book progressed or perhaps it was catharsis rather than acceptance. This is a book for those who have family members struggling with mental health but it has something for everyone. It’s beautifully written, courageous and poignant. Highly recommended.

More than just a good read
This book is a great read for anyone who has gone through the loss of a loved one, but also for those who have not, so they understand that grieving takes many forms. The writing is crisp and the page turning story line could make it a quick and easy read, but for the author's raw emotions and courageous honesty which makes us pause for introspection. Highly recommend.
