Very nice
Replaced a battery jobby with this. Had a circuit terminated in the airing cupboard. I'd terminated in a junction box and switched the fuse off at the consumer box. Run a cable from the junction box under the false floor in the airing board, was a water pump supply when cupboard contained part of the heating / hot water system, up in to the loft. Run the cable to where I fitted the alarm fixing to beams where needed. When wiring the base plate a pair of long nose pliers helped to get the wires in very quickly. The alarm looks nice and from the research I did it seems to be a good piece of kit. Fixing the base plate to the ceiling was easy enough and then slide the man unit on to the base plate. Getting the plaster board fixings in was probably the fiddlest thing out of the whole process. Comes with a dust cover which is good as I've still got work to do near the unit. The box contains some stickers to put on the consumer unit. A little one to go under the actual fuse and a main label to show date installed etc. A nice touch.

Replacement fire alarm for EI141. 3 fitted in 5 minutes on existing bases.
My old alarm started playing up after 12 years by going off at 3am (why is it always 3 am.....when I checked the web for similar issues everyone had issues at the same time of day or should I say night). They had a label that said replace by Feb 2012 so I knew that they were past their useful life. Checking the web I found that the type I had not not recommended for their location of hallway and landing but Ei146 and this type were. I was after an alarm that would fit my existing base so that I did not had to carry out a new electrical installation and both of these would have fit the bill. IcOne the Ei2110 because it was a multisensor alarm with rechargeable battery back up. I felt that the multisensor part would give me the best chance of a warning in the event of a fire but also reduce the risk of false alarms. The rechargeable battery gets rid of that annoying beep every 18months or so that means we need a new 9v battery and it always happens in the middle of the night. These were fitted in 5minutes for 3. Great. Only 4 stars because I have not had a chance to test them in a real life fire and very very picky but the LED is very bright and the missus finds it annoying if we leave the bed room light on!

Good product
I checked online and directly with a smoke alarm company as to what alarm to buy to meet the needs of my home (the findings of this mini research exercise informed me there is a range of different smoke alarms to fit a range of environmental circumstances, e.g. hallway, bedroom, etc.). Also an electrician advised he always uses the Aico range. So I bought this and it's exactly as described in the advert. The electrician who fitted it said it's one of the best in the range and I'm happy with it.

Easy to fit and nicely designed
I bought two of these - one for the landing and one for the hall - as replacements for some old detectors that had become unreliable. I wanted dual-sensor alarms to cut down on false alarms and these seemed to be highly recommended while I was researching them. Installed in minutes and passed testing. Hopefully good for 10 years now.

Four Stars
Seems a good product, but only time will tell if it performs as it should in an emergency.
