Review: Great fun, third person shooter with lots of missions and great characters and graphics - PUrchased this for a friend who likes shooter games. I have played this game for more than a thousand hours since it first came out. I still play it. I prefer third person vs. first person and the aftermath version allows you to play in either mode by simply holding down the R3 stick to switch. The graphics are terffic and each of the missions is set in a city around the globe. Thus far they have come out with several DLC's including Tempe AZ, and Las Vegas, NV being the most recent. I have my favorites amongst the various locations including Jerusaluam, Marseille and Moscow. Mainly because I like the banter that the characters make suring these three chapters. The builders gave them a great sense of humor which I like. They are full os smart cracks. Especially Eloise in the Marseille chapter. She is full of the devil. To me this game is probably better for mature players as there is a lot of language in it. But I have played and been surprised to find little kids in the game with their mic hot. When I say little kids I mean like 6-8 years old. They scream like banchess when they get attacked and I found myself rescuing the poor buggers when they were meleed by zombies. Most folks keep their mics muted. So you really don't get any idea of who you are playing with when you are in public mode. I tend to play online private a lot and by mself. Mostly because I found that in public mode there were just too many new players playing in normal or even hard mode which is really tough. This is not an easy game. Even in easy mode until you figure out where to go and what you are looking for you will like die a lot at first. So I found myself continually waiting at check points for beginners who were in above their head and often dies or ended up with me dying trying to go back and get them up so we could move on the next check point. Just too frustrating. But when you do get a good team, public mode is a blast. I just recommend new players to stay in easy mode until you have run through the misisions a couple of times. and learned the lay of the land as well as built up your players skils. You can chose from a variety of characters in each location. Each character is then built out in one several categories such as extermintor, hellraiser, medic, gunner etc. Each of those builds requires a total of 30 points to complete the build and get the character to full strength. That takes about 12-15 mission runs to achieve. I recommend starting with the exterminator build first. When fully built out it offers a lots of benefits that the other builds do not. For example you can select a setting that will give you a 1 out 5 chance to get a double on a defense item. Defense items are availale along the way at check points and they are things like stationary machine guns, mortor rounds electric grids etc. When you get a double on these you will place the defense and then notice that another similar locatioin for that defense is highlighted. So that is a huge deal when the waves come in. I also recommend learning where the breaching charges are hdden in each episode. They can be used to blow lockers whihc have weapons, defense item and health kits. There is a lot to learn which is great fun and after three years since this game came out I am still an avid fan! It is a blast and it never gets old. Review: Fun and son enjoys it. - My son loves this game. Works good. Lots of great graphics.

This product is for Europe (Region 2) DLC WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE IN THE U.S..
The company that created this page did not list that the product is Region 2 and meant for European gamers. They should definitely update the page as soon as possible. FYI: I recently bought this game and when I purchased the Walking Dead DLC, I could not get it to install. After dealing with Sony tech support, I discovered that the reason why the DLC did not install is because this game is Region 2 which is meant for the European market. The PEGI 18 logo is in the corner is the packaging which is the European rating system. Games that are Region 1 have an ESRB rating in the corner of the game cover. I was able to install the game and play it but I cannot install any DLC from the U.S.-based playstation store on my console. So, make sure that you see the ESRB icon in the bottom left side of the game cover to confirm that it is for U.S. gamers.
