NEDFOSS Mammoth Camping Hatchet Axe, 16" Camping Axe with 1065 High Carbon Steel
Balls to the wind!!, balls to the wind!! Overall a bloody decent and lovely axe. A well proportioned axe head. The eye fits the haft snug, complementing the the radius of the wedge. Running down the haft, the belly has a notch, leading to the throat ( dynamical shape ) ending with a good size end knob. Back to the Head : the shoulders are corresponding and well shaped on both the top and bottom of the Bit. Both the Toe & the Heal's angle of the Bit's edge are relative to the design of the Head. The length of the Bevel too, is a good size. The Bit's beard is in line with its shape and gives you that Viking edge. The Bevel's angle is great - 20/25 degrees and sharp enough to get going. The sheath that fits over the axe's head is leather and well made. A GREAT AXE, COMMENSURATE IN BALANCE AND OVERALL HANDLING.

Not perfect but still awesome.
I can't complain for the price point (on sale, $38 USD). The handle finish is terrible. It's dipped or sprayed so it's not even, it feels like several coats of unsanded polyurethane. As soon as I grabbed it I could feel exactly where blisters would form. No big deal, I planned on refinishing it anyway. The alignment is slightly off (head dips left). This actually works great for me because I'm right-handed and tend to swing towards the right; this keeps my swings more centered. It's duller than your personality; which is fine, I don't want to receive a sharp hatchet so I can easily reprofile the blade. The sheath is fantastic but you'll want to glue in the little rubber plug that's inside to protect the blade from the snap. All in all, it's a hatchet under $50 so don't expect diamonds. I would purchase again.

NedFoss Ax “MADE IN CHINA” on back of box!
The head is loose and the edge is dull. You can hear the looseness in the video below. This ax seems used? It’s a gift for my camping partner so I’ll let him decide. Feels heavy in my hand but maybe not for a big strong Marine. Just checked the back of the box “MADE IN CHINA”

Great hatchet
This is one great tool, great weight and balance quality is first class. High carbon steel brace comes sharp and ready to start working. Handel is strong, attachment too head is tight, barrel and wedge make sure that there is no movement. Very comfortable to use, I have several hatches, this one will be in my pack

Best one
Best bearded axe I've bought on Amazon so far! Update over a year later, this ace is still holding strong, the head has not come loose or even gotten the slightest hint of wooble. I use it for many things from trimming branches to helping me shape logs in my shop. I rapped the head in a cold, wet towel, and took a blow torch and gently glazed the handle to give it a nice warm look. It fits perfectly for both one hand or two. I have not tried using it as a throwing axe but I'm not sure I want too or not. That is to be determined.

The axe had to be sharpened before use and the quality of the axe wasn’t as expected.
