This is an excellent book for the novice but has enough advanced stuff to make it interesting for those with experience. The author, Janet Pittman, covers the various types of hand and machine applique, the equipment and supplies you need, and gives several inspirational projects. The diagrams and photoqraphs are clear and almost self-explanatory. The instructions are also clear with lots of helpful tips which are highlighted for easy reference. The author explains so many ways of applique that I believe any sewer could find a method that they enjoy.A lot of thought has obviously gone into the presentation of the information - for instance the fonts used are easily legible and the book has an interior spinal binding, meaning that it lays flat when open.I had borrowed this book from a friend before I bought it. Having read it, I wanted to keep it!

All what I expected , very good details

It is a 5 star book about machine applique and just a few words about hand applique (2 stars). Unfortunately the book description did not say that clearly that is why my rate is 3 stars only. Lovely projects and easy instructions. Pretty advanced level but having some skills it is probably possible to find something for beginners.

This book is one of the best books that I have read so far. Lots of ideas and easy to understand.
