I needed a clean looking vent for heat exhaust on the base of my under-counter microwave/convection oven. My cabinet guy cut an opening in my toe kick to fit this in. It is sleek & modern looking. Very well made. The vents inside are black & can be closed or opened. It isn't cheap but it's worth what it costs. I ordered 3 different vents & this one looked the best.

I purchased and used one of these for a makeup air system on our stove top vent. the 24", single slot air vent fit perfectly under the cabinet kick panel and supplies just enough makeup air when the stove top vent is on. We have a damper controlled fresh air inlet under the house, in the crawl space that brings in fresh makeup air, via motorized damper that opens when ever the powerful exhaust vent is on. Works with the plenum we purchased for the 24" single slot air vent that has an 8" opening for duct work. We can have a fire in our living room fireplace and cook with the exhaust vent on at the same time, no issues. Works as I designed it to work. Every 300 cfm or over exhaust fans MUST have makeup air of some sorts or they will cause combustion issues and negative pressure in your house. Locating our makeup air just below the stove top burner ensure makeup air coming in goes directly up and out with the exhaust vented air.
