Great bread proofer!
It is an amazing instrument helping me to start a sour bread starter and rising the dough after it is being mixed. To make a sourdough starter you need to keep the mixture of the flour and water in the constant humid warm temperature for up to 3 days. This genius instrument is exactly what I was looking for! It makes all the proces a joy ride. Have not tried it for anything else yet. The difference in the set temperature and the actual one (in my case*) is about 2-3 degrees in Celsius. So I need to set 2-3 degrees higher to what I require in order to get the correct required temperature inside of the "incubator"... After the dough has been mixed it is a great place to put your future bread to rise. Loving it! Makes my journey of making the sour bread a joyful ride full of pleasure. Genius!

It works for sourdough!
I'm delighted with this product. Having struggled to make sourdough bread in my cool house for months and months, I've just successfully made my first professional looking soughdough loaf using this proofer! It is very expensive but it did the trick and it folds away after use.

Temperature not very accurate
I use a thermometer (I've changed a few) to check the temperature and the is always 2-3 degrees difference, so not fully reliable (on the thermometer the temp is lower than on the proofer). Also, the cord is way too short and I always need an extension to use it comfortably.

Brod & Taylor Proofer
Brod & Taylor Proofer Is a game changer for me and my Sourdough Bread and Pizza, rolls and other items baked with Sourdough. My kitchen is cold so sourdough takes quite a while and now it rises a lot quicker with this Proofer. I absolutely love it. It is made well with good quality materials and best of all it folds away so doesn’t take up much space. In my opinion, well worth the money.

A decent all rounder for bread , yogurt making and a slow cooker appliance
Not easy to disassemble. Could have had a component to place over the sides to make them more ridged when assembled. Overall does it’s job. I specifically bought it for bread making and I’m very pleased with it. First class results every time

Game changer
If you make a lot of bread this is a must. If you just make the odd loaf then the cost may not be worth it. I can’t believe how quickly I can make a sourdough loaf. Because you can control the environment you no longer have to hang around for hours till it proofs. Check out Utube for detailed info. It also folds up into a flat pack for easy storage. Brilliant.

I am very happy with this Proofer for making bread. I have not tried to make yogurt yet. It is very easy to assemble and disassemble when I finish making bread. Simply pop up the wall, put some water into the pan and install the metal rack, turn it on, set the temperature, put the dough into the thing and close the lid. Bread gets a great deal more rise giving better and more consistent loaves. I've used several kinds of dough including yeast and sourdough. Both rise very well and room temp and humidity variation is removed. I have done the initial rise in bowls and second rise in both loaf pans and proofing baskets. Ciabatta, French loaves, Heavy walnut bread with lots of whole wheat and rye flour, several kinds of baguettes, and others made so far and they all get a great rise. All come out very well. A couple changes needed include using a bowl that will fit into the unit. Formerly, I used a very large, wide bowl, that is just too big to fit into the unit. An easy change. I also use the unit for sourdough feeder when I feed it. It rally gets good consistent feed instead of the many variations from ambient temp and humidity depending on weather. Consistency is very important with bread. Clean up is easy. I do make sure to wipe it down well after use as there is moisture inside. I also let it sit out to dry with my proofing baskets for a day just to avoid mildew or other problems. It really stores well folding down into a couple inches high and fits well into a drawer I can store all my baking things. No really extra space needed because of it's low profile when stored. I have yet to attempt yogurt and eventually will try it.

I've been making bread for a few years now and due to the fact that I don't have a stable and warm place to proof my dough, my results have always been iffy. As often as I was able to I've used my bread machine to make my bread, but this method isn't always the way to go and hence, my problem with a warm and stable environment for proofing my bread dough. When I was exploring ways to make a DIY proofer, I came across a link for this Brod & Taylor Bread Proofer and I was like "What?" I didn't know there was such a thing, but now that I found it I will move mountains to get one and since my birthday was just around the corner, I TOLD...not asked, hahaha....my husband that I needed one of these ASAP and like a sweetheart he said 'yes' and voila....I got my proofer! It's not homemade, so it doesn't take up mounds of space and it folds for easy storage! Woohoo! I felt like I'd struck gold and when I finally received it (it took a little longer than expected, because the item was out of stock) I used it that very day, because I was already working on a bread dough when it arrived and it was like a gift from the gods! :) I used it with water in the supplied pan and my dough proofed like a dream with a nice moist surface and all this without heating the oven, shutting it off, adding a pan of water, etc... I was extremely pleased and have used this machine for proofing during a few bread making sessions now and I can't believe how wonderful this appliance is and how much easier it is to make my bread now! Once the item was back in stock, it arrived very quickly...in a matter of a couple of days actually! The packaging was great and everything arrived in top condition! No more trying to figure out how I'm going to finish proofing my dough because I need to preheat my oven to bake the bread. And for me, this appliance will be used year round, because during the summer months we have our central air going and the house is always kind of coolish! I highly recommend the Brod & Taylor Proofer for anyone who needs a warm and stable environment to proof their dough for bread-making.
