A little rinki-dink
I got this as a gift for my neighbor as his wife has dementia. When we tested it we found that the clock is pretty lightweight plastic and not really very solid feeling. There is a button on the top that when pressed will speak the time. It is pretty loud but perfectly understandable. The button is VERY sensitive. If you brush against it the thing will go off. If fact while we were standing nearby a gnat must of landed on it because it started telling us the time several times over. When my friend pressed the button to perhaps forestall the time-telling the clock again stated the time then stopped. This clock may not serve well as a bedside clock as one nocturnal indiscretion and you would get blasted with THREE TWENTY NINE AM!

It does speak the time.
This clock does all it says it does in its description. It would be a useful clock for a blind person. Still, it feels cheaply made and the voice is difficult to understand. You cannot see the time from the front of the clock as it is not backlit and is a tiny display, but these are things that would not detract from its stated purpose. The multiple alarm noises and sounds would get old very quickly but would probably serve the purpose of waking you up just so you can rapidly shut it off.It also speaks out the time as you are setting it, so could really be used by someone with no sight.

Talking alarm clock
Low quality. Some assembly required because it was in 5 pieces. It works perfectly just not all the pieces were there or together

Great for someone hard of sight
My brother is blind, so I got this for him so that he can easily know what time it is, as that helps him feel more in control of his daily rhythm. Seems like a good clock with simple functions, which is what I was looking for.

Thin plastic basic screen and baby toy voice
This product is made with a very light thin plastic mould, basic buttons, needs AA batteries and when the top button is pressed it says the time in a very basic baby toy with American accent. Imagine it saying "hey I want to be your friend"!Sure, it does actually work, shows the time and is simple to use.Its really a product which was common 25 years ago. Things have now moved on.For the price, you really should have a solid quality product, which is USB powered or with internal rechargeable batteries and a more convincing voice such as Alexa.I think most people would be disappointed given its price point. It really should be less than £10 in my experience. Its is not evident that they have actually designed it for blind people, but it was an afterthought.

It isn’t large – it’s six inches wide
Ignore the photos provided by the manufacturer as they have done a terrible job of super-imposing this device onto existing images. Look at their video or my image below for the real size. For just over £21 you get a small clock, no batteries (requires 2 x AA) and the instructions are on the outside of a flimsy box. There is a big button on the top that when pressed will tell you the time. The voice is an unpleasant robotic, shrill voice. Don’t expect Alexa quality levels! With that said, it’s loud and does the job it is supposed to.Setting the time and the alarm is easily done with the three buttons on the front and the device will give you a running commentary on the time you are setting it to.My parents are using it as a travel alarm clock as neither want to use the clock app on their phone. It will do the job for them.I personally don’t think the device has the build quality, size of screen or functionality to justify a price of more than twenty-one pounds but looking at speaking clock alternatives out there, not many are cheaper!

Very, VERY Cheaply Made...But It Does What it Says on the Tin
My husband is losing his sight, so I chose this for him so when he wakes early in the morning, he doesn't have to put the light on, and find his glasses in order to see the time. And the little clock (about six inches long) works OK. We had a good laugh when testing it out. When one pushes the button on top (it does have to be pushed; just running a hand over the button does nothing) a loud Chinese-accented woman's voices announces (as an example): "It is five forty-two PM".The product was made in China, and you will remember that every time you hear the time, lol.The clock takes two AA batteries -- and it is just a clock. No radio, nothing else. Because it doesn't plug in, you can stick it anywhere and travel with it, as well.BUT...it feels super cheap-o. I wonder how long it will last. If you are looking for something sturdier, you may wish to consult the RNIB website/catalogue instead.

Talking Clock
Delivered in its own branded boxInside the box sits this talking clock , it's pill shaped and measures 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.2" on the top of the clock there is a large button which when pushed sends out a British male voice with the time .On the front of the clock there are buttons to set the time date and alarm and a further button that allows you to set up an automatic hourly time check , just above this there's an easy to reach led screen with a digital clock . You can adjust the volume too .This is perfect for older people who have sight impairment and the blind .It does require 2AA batteries , not included .It's been well designed and does exactly as it says . The British accent is a nice change from the Americanised ones . Well priced I'm happy to recommend
