Sturdy and handles the rain well
In the part of the country where I live, we get brief, intense thunderstorms with heavy downpours and high gusts, which pose a challenge to umbrellas, especially travel umbrellas. I was interested to see how this one would handle one of those storms. The umbrella was sturdy and easy to open with the push of a button. It snapped into position on its own. The ribs were reinforced with springs, which helped maintain the structure, but also made it harder to close the umbrella. Expect to give your wrist a light workout while pushing it to the full locking position. It performed well in the rain. It’s wider than the usual travel umbrella, which was welcome and even made it useful for two people. For the mot part, it handled the wind well. At one point, when getting back in the car, I turned it into the wind, which pushed the ribs up and away. However, I was able to fix it quickly and easily by fixing one rib: the others followed. Overall, this is a well made umbrella that’s a keeper. One star deduction for the difficulty in collapsing it, but don’t let that deter you, especially if you have to deal with heavy rains.

Very sturdy
I ordered this umbrella because the one I had in my car was very flimsy and I needed a good, sturdy umbrella to replace the flimsy one. This one fits that need. The only problem I have with it at the moment is the button on the side you push to open and close it is pretty hard to push. At least for now. I'm thinking once I use it awhile the button might get a little looser and thereby get easier to push.It says in the description you can push the button and open and close this umbrella with one hand. Perhaps this is true if you have decent strength in your hands, but apparently I don't.When I opened it the first time I was impressed by how large it was and how strong the frame seems to be. It really looks like it's strong enough it won't easily flip inside out during a bad storm. However I know by experience if the wind is strong enough that will still happen. But according to the description on the website if that does happen the umbrella will easily revert back again, which would be wonderful.Bad storms are the reason I wanted a strong umbrella and ordered this one. Where I live we get a lot of really bad storms all year long and the flimsy umbrella I was using last month turned inside out in one of those strong, windy storms. I got totally drenched in that rainstorm fighting with my old, cheap umbrella to get it back in shape again. I never did, but I'm sure I entertained a lot of people in that parking lot. So when I got home again I threw that worthless umbrella away and ordered this one.I like the fact this one compacts down into such a small size, despite the fact it is nice and large when opened. The first time I pushed the button to close it I was surprised how strongly it snapped back closed again. I hadn't been prepared for that much strength when it folds down to be so small. It hasn't rained since I received this umbrella but I do have a big shower in my bathroom so I tested it in there. So far, so good. The water repelled very nicely and dried semi-quickly.Besides the manufacturers fixing the hard to push button if I could ask for one more thing to be added it would be to have different colors or patterns available. The main reason I bought the flimsy umbrella in the first place was because it had a gorgeous pattern on it when opened. If it's storming it's always nice to have something pretty over your head.I'm pretty sure this umbrella will last awhile.

I wanted to love it, but it's still not quite there
This umbrella has a lot of great features. It has a sturdy design and reflective strips, which are great. However, a big design flaw is that when I go to expand it, the outermost rim still remains inverted, meaning that I have to manually flip it every time it's raining. It's not a huge deal, but it doesn't do a great job of protecting you from the rain until you flip it the correct way (into a traditional dome). That said, when you do press the button to collapse it, it does keep most of the rain off of you because of the design. It's also just a little heavy in my backpack.

Pretty nice compact umbrella
This umbrella is pretty stylish and compact which is what I look for in an umbrella. It’s a nice black color and the spring loaded arms look pretty cool when opened up and it opens up in a click of a button. It does come with a case for the umbrella and once you open it the first time it’s nearly impossible to fit back in there. One thing that concerns me is once it’s opened up there’s no way to lock it into place at the top but time will tell how well it will hold up.

Nice umbrella, good quality
The media could not be loaded. This umbrella is nicer than expected. I like the size a lot as it provides much more protection which is great as I carry expensive camera equipment when traveling. The fabric is opaque to block out the sun and repels the rain adequately. The 12 ribs seem to make the umbrella more stable and less likely to bend in the wind, although I have not tested this theory. The open and closing mechanism is a plus. Beware that the umbrella opens and closes quickly, so be ready!!You will also need a little muscle to collapse the umbrella down once it's closed. Two things I'm not crazy about are the loop on the handle as it is too small to wear on your wrist and the protective cover provided fits very tightly. It's hard to put on again once the umbrella has been opened.Other than that, this seems like a really nice umbrella for travel.

Very sturdy
I've had several inexpensive compact umbrellas that didn't last long, but this by far is the most rugged one I've seen. It's definitely compact when folded, but feels fairly heavy at just under a pound (15.7 oz.).It deploys easily with a push of the button, and with 12 substantial ribs feels very solid in use. I haven't yet used it in a heavy wind situation, but I feel like it'll hold up better than most.I did struggle a little the first time I tried to retract it, as simply pulling down the collar doesn't get it closed. I eventually realized you have to first push the button again to retract the ribs, then you can push the handle in to retract the center post. The latter does take quite a lot of force; about 16 lbs. if my bathroom scale is accurate, so a person with physical limitations may struggle to put it away.
