Q: can i use these in my wine fermintaions?

Hi! Unfortunately, we don't recommend using them for aging liquor. We can only suggest using them for old fashioned drinks.

Q: What's the wood type?

Hi! We chip bourbon barrels made of American Oak.

Q: Can these chips be used in a pellet smoker?

I used these chips in a smoke tube placed on the pellet smoker grill, not in the pellet hopper. I mixed some pellets that I was cooking with in with the chips (to be sure they continued to burn) and loaded them into the tube. I do believe I picked up additional positive smoke flavor with these chips but I'll be trying it on other cooks to be sure. So far, I'm pleased with the results of this purchase.
