You resurrected my heart when I thought it was gone forever, so its fate is yours
Tin is the first book in the faeries in oz series.Tin is an infamous assassin for hire cursed with a heart of stone. Hes known through the land of oz for once being a hero, and now he is a ruthless and merciless killer. Tin gets offered a large pay day by an old friend, lion. Who is his target, non other than their old friend Dorothy. Lion wants her head, literally.Tin goes to retrieve Dorothy from Kansas. To find a girl more than willing to hop back in a portal back to OZ. This may be easier than he thought.Tin isn't the only one who has changed in the last few years, The Dorthey he brings to OZ isn't the small child he sent back to Kansas. As they travel together after about a decade apart , they rekindle an old friendship and learn that their lives apart all these years weren't easy for either of them. When I started this I read it on a whim and found it on KU, I was up with a sick kiddo and needed something to help keep me awake. LET ME TELL YOU WHAT, once the sick kiddo fell asleep I stayed up and read the whole darn thing in one night. The dual POV was done very well. The pacing was fantastic, there wasn't much filler or fluff. There was great character growth and development. The twists and turns kept me glued to this story. The romance is great , there is spice so its not a book for kids or teens. The trance this book had me in was unreal. I started Crow ( book two the very next day)This book had my attention at the start. I do love a good OZ retelling but this is by far my favorite series. Ill go on and do a review for each book so please be on the look out for those as well."You resurrected my heart when I thought it was gone forever, so its fate is yours. Rip it out and burn it to ash if that makes you happy. But know this: no matter how long you allow me to keep it, I will cherish this gift and use it to protect you."

An Interesting Oz Telling
*****Spoilers*****A Wizard of Oz retelling with Dorothy as the star and Tin the love interest. The book opens with Dorothy in the human realm, Tin is an assassin whose heart re-hardened and it's 10 years since young Dorothy was in Oz and did all those things (killing two witches, bringing together Tin, Oz, and Lion, traveling with Toto, slippers, and going back home to Kansas). Turns out, Oz is much different now and she's not crazy like her family and doctors in Kansas thought. Dorothy has no one and is in the process of losing her farm, so going back to magical Oz is the choice that makes the most sense for her. While in Oz, Dorothy learns and sees how it's changed and tons of revelations make the day. Crow is her father, turns out Dorothy was a changeling and her real name is Thelia. The Wicked Witch Dorothy killed with the water was actually her mother Reva under a curse who turns out to not be dead but banished to a dark realm, the Wizard is a usurper, the real one comes back from the dark with Reva after Dorothy does some fae magic. Good witches have fallen to evil and Oz is this terrible place where the Lion is a villain and takes heads for his lover to wear, I can't remember her name. It's an interesting take on the story in general but I wouldn't call this an enemies to lovers tale either. I can say that there's a lot that goes on and it passes quickly. I'm slightly curious about the rest of the character's stories, particularly since Crow lost his memory and was nonsensical when he originally met Dorothy as a kid but remembered her after she left and it's how we learn he's Dorothy's father. There's a story there with Reva but not enough of one to make me want to pick up the others.

Not grandma's yellow brick road!!!
Well, now this WAS a very interesting variation on the merry olde land of OZ!Outstanding reimagining and world building populated with familiar characters that’ve undergoneSome rather, oh sooo, delicious twists. I was thoroughly fascinated and enjoyed every moment. This was story telling on a grandiose scale and kudos to the authors for coming up with this fabulous rendition. Not for the faint of heart for sure as some of these characters are pretty much into the dark side of life, but it fits in with the world this story now takes place. Definitely an adult version. You’ve been warned!Years have passed and Dorothy who is trying to live her life back in Kansas is pulled back into OZ byTin who’s been sent by Lion to bring her to him for his creepy love interest and she has one heck of a hobby!OH THE HORROR!!!! Dorothy has some real new adventures on this trip besides discovering love (with Tin of course!) and having the mystery of her own heritage revealed.Lots of intrigue going on here with some adventure thrown in for good measure, characters you used to love but maybe not so much anymore? What can I say…? Magnifique!!!Starting on book #2 RIGHT NOW! Thank goodness I don’t have to wait.Triple highly recommended!!!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Unique sequel for The Wizard of Oz
This adult take on the land of Oz ten years after Dorothy’s first visit is quite a unique one. The romance is intense, the storyline epic, and even darker than the original. The cast of evil witches has taken a turn to the horrific, and the twist about Dorothy’s true family added a lot.
