Q: I bought the $39.99 Gadfish Scoop .Which Carbon Fiber pole i need to get? I got the one suggested but doen not fit into the scoop.

I just used a three-quarter inch PVC pipe 3 foot long. Drilled the holes and put bolts in it .very stiff

Q: What long handle works best for this scoop? I am open to all materials.

The scoop features a top hole with a diameter of 30 mm. We recommend that you can use a long handle with a diameter of around 27-28mm, but in practice it will depend on the thickness of your handle. Also, the recommended length of the handle is 108-115cm.

Q: Does anyone find the holes to be too big where something valuable could pass through?

Coin and rings stay in it .small ear rings stay in too

Q: Where and how can I buy the pole? If I need to look for one not made for this scoop, is it threaded? Will I need to drill two holes etc.?

I put an 1-1/8" wooden shaft in the scoop. It is pre-drilled with 2 holes. Very sturdy for the price. I used it last weekend and it worked great. Looks to be very durable. You can get a handle at any local hardware store. I cut mind off so it is 5ft long. Weight of the carbon fiber and the wood handle are about the same.
