Fun
These are great when you need something to fidget with but are tired of spinners and squishy things. Had a blast rearranging and building nonsense sculptures on my desk over the lunch hour.

Thought magnets would be stronger
It's okay, but I thought the magnets would be stronger. It would be more fun to fidget with if the magnets went along the edges rather than just two points on each side and had a stronger connection. As-is, it builds very flimsy structures

good for limited play
I have another set that is similar. The blocks can be a fun distractor but the hold is weak with the magnets. This makes it frustrating at times. Other than that, you can have fun making the different designs it suggests.

Fun Magnetic Toy
These pentagon magnetic blocks are fun to build 3D and 2D creations. The pieces are smaller than I thoughtThe black pieces aren't magnetic and are little smaller than the white pieces. The black blocks are about an inch wide. The white pieces are magnetic and are about an inch and a half wide.I think the reason it is 14 years + is because the pieces are so small. I think a kid around 8 + could build the 3D objects.

Building Fun with Limited Possibilities
The media could not be loaded. The Tankoo Platero Blocks set is a fun building toy that allows you to create a variety of structures, including a soccer ball. The set includes 20 magnetic hexagon tiles (white) and 12 non-magnetic pentagon tiles (black). The magnets in the hexagon tiles are not particularly strong and they are round making two put together swing all about, so building anything more than a simple structure can be a bit challenging. Additionally, the limited number of shapes included in the set limits the number of different structures that can be created.Overall, the Tankoo Platero Blocks set is a decent option for children who enjoy building and creating a soccer or football, but it may not be the most versatile toy on the market.

Interesting to play with
I've always had a fascination for magnetic toys which stems from my childhood when I was given two tiny magnetic Scottie dogs to play with. And nowadays I never miss an opportunity to play with my grandchildren when they pull out their magnetic tiles. So when I saw this particular item advertised of course I had to try it out.It didn't really disappoint me, but it didn't impress me either. Though the little round magnets do attract, the way they are set into their actual plastic piece can make building something a little tricky sometimes.I wouldn't give this to a smaller child as I agree with the 14+ age level recommended. If any of the small magnets accidentally fell out -- and they could, especially during harder play -- if a small child decided to pick them up and swallow them it could be very dangerous.I also would like it if the manufacturer would offer a white set with a few colored pieces, as is shown in their advertisement. The white set does come with some gray pieces, but In order to build the pretty 2 tone balls with actual pretty bright colors as shown in their ad you have to buy another colored set, like green or blue. In the ad it shows all sorts of different colored pieces being used together, none of which are listed for sale. So perhaps Amazon just doesn't carry the colored sets.I really don't like ads that show something in multi-colors but then don't offer those colors for sale. To me it screams of false advertising. In any case, if you want something a little challenging, perhaps even a bit frustrating, this item is for you.

Cute for something to do while in a long meeting
Not sure what I expected when I grabbed this little item. To be honest, I thought I was grabbing a children's toy for toddlers. Turns out it is for the 14+ crowd. I can see it entertaining the engineering crowd for some time. I enjoyed it for a mindless thing to put together and take apart while in a meeting. The encouraged "build and smash for stress" concept was relaxing. The quality is good. The packaging is well thought out. Short term toy for our house, but can see others enjoying the endless engineering options and the build and smash.
