This book touched me in so many ways. Just reading about his struggles made me look differently at the troubled young people today. This book made me see with unscaled eyes that people have their own set of reasons for turning bad. However there is Glory in our Lord which puts the right people in the right place at the right time to pull them out of their lost ways. To give them a purpose in their life. And to give forgiveness and offer salvation. Praise be to God for placing it upon David’s heart to share his story. I think this book should be available in every group home for troubled youth.

God’s overflowing mercy met this man’s pain in a profound way, I feel, after reading this book. So many trials, inner scars, and profound endurance, leading up to that one moment of true awakening. Never give up hope was the message I received and through David Fisher’s “true” dad’s suffering and death, mercy was shown. Heaven touched earth through an earthly father’s love. So symbolic, biblical, and unexpected are God’s merciful details.

Written in conversational style, this book is a moving account of mercies that Our Lord granted the author even before his conversion. God holds us in His Hand even when we aren't aware of it. David shows us that it is impossible to move so far from God that He can't find us.

With amazing detail and candor, David Fisher recounts his unstable life up to Christianity into The One, True Holy and Apostolic Faith. His account includes physical abuse, desire to be accepted, alcohol abuse & drug addiction. The book reaches an amazing climax in the last two chapter where he brilliantly sums up Buddhism's short coming and his mystical experience before the Real Presence in the Eucharist at Mass. It's hard to read through all of what David went through, but it's true, raw and real and has a happy ending. Buy it (David has 3 girls) and read it! --Ms. Annie Borders, OP

I really enjoyed this book. Much of what David shared was relatable and it helped me understand the content dynamics. Highly recommended for those searching for hope in their lives!

To me, this book is about searching for answers, and purpose. From early trauma, young shenanigans, college years and stints in the military, the author takes you through it all. All the while, searching for meaning through several religions, drug use and abuse, along with his psychedelic journeys, brought him to the Catholic Church. Get this book!!
