Huge cost saver
After upgrading to the R6MarkII I was not looking forward to replacing/upgrading all my EF glass, but this little gem has so far performed flawlessly! AF works as expected, but I'll check back in if any issues arise. Otherwise, I see no reason to spend all that money on Canon's equivalent solve. Highly recommend.

Works pefect
Fraction of the price as the Canon brand with the same functionality. No reason to pay more than 2x for the Canon version.

Sturdy, works perfect with EF lenses. Stability and auto focus both working fine
So far so good. This works perfect on my Canon EF lenses adapting to my Canon R100.

Good value.
Does what it's supposed to. Works with all my EF and EF-s lenses. Auto focus and lens IS work perfectly fine. Surprisingly well built, although there is a bit of wiggle, the fit to the camera could be a little tighter. To sum it up, I'm quite happy with this adapter, considering its price.

Gotta work!
My old (1987) Canon EOS has wonderful lenses that I didn't want to give up. The adapter answered any questions I had about not being able to use them. Arrived quickly, fit very easily and well and was well priced. What else could I wish....

Great low cost alternative
Like many of you, I spend considerable time researching before I buy an item. I was torn between this adapter and the Canon one for my new Canon M6 camera, which was purchased for a trip of a lifetime. The reviews swayed me, and I put it through a bit of testing today.First, the lock-up between the adapter and camera is solid, and has no wobbling like purchasers of other brands reported. Solid and stable. Connecting several of my EF lenses, both Canon and Tamron, all yielded great quick auto-focus and stable lockup. I took several dozen pictures from varying distances, and all yielded very acceptable results. The lenses search a bit more connected to the adapter when using automatic focusing and the automatic camera setting than on my 5D Mark II, or using a native EF-M mounted lens on this camera, but I rarely use automatic anyway. Further, even though they searched, it was a quick focus when I kept the camera and lens stable. More than acceptable to catch a quick picture that simply can't be duplicated.I can't speak to the long term durability, but it has a solid build, and was well packaged unlike many off brand purchases I have made in the past. I have confidence in this. Enough that I'm flying half-way around the world and taking pictures in a place I'll likely never return to in my lifetime.Well done to the manufacturer, and I can solidly recommend this for your use. I paid full price, and would again.

Worked great for 12 days.
I had the same issue as the others. f00, because of 2mm wobble on contacts. This also produced non-parallel planes from the lens to the sensor. I regret being cheap and I have apologized to R5 and multiple lenses for sticking this low tolerance and low build quality adapter between them. ( I also tried to save money by using inexpensive polarizers which is another story and regret after I viewed them. ) Other than these two mistakes I've never had a problem with my Canon cameras since 1991. Hopefully it did not damage my camera body. The lenses still work on my 5Diii. I am going to spend $150 more and get the Canon model. My R5 has been incredible. So much so that I am going to choose a proper R lens for it.

Commlite CM-EF-EOS R Lens Adapter
I have found Commlite to be a good and consistent manufacturer of camera adapters.I have used their converters for EOS to 4/3's Lumix, Panasonic and and EOS to both M50 and R50 Canon cameras, and all of them worked [for the most part].The adapter may not work on all lenses. Sometimes an error message will flash in your viewer.Whether or not it will work, is dependent on the quality / status of the lens being mounted. As an example, the EOS to R50 adapter failed to work with an older Canon EFS 18-55mm lens, but another [identical lens] worked. It is trial and error depending on the age and condition of the lens being used.If the lens is good, it appears to work.I would recommend the Commlite Lens adapters to my friends.

Works just fine
I've been using the CM-EF-EOS adapter on my Canon M100 for several months now, pairing it with a variety of EF and EF-S lenses. Here's a detailed overview of my experience:The adapter is constructed from solid metal, which gives it a sturdy and durable feel. When attached to the camera and lenses, it fits tightly and securely, ensuring no wobble or movement. The tripod mount attachment is also very robust, providing a stable platform even for heavier lenses like the Canon 70-200mm F4 L telephoto lens. However, some users have reported issues with the tripod mount being loose, but I found that tightening the attachment screw resolves this problem effectively. In terms of performance, the adapter does an excellent job of translating all camera and lens functions seamlessly. The autofocus works flawlessly, and there is no noticeable light leakage. This is consistent with my experience across various lenses, including Canon, Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina models. The adapter maintains the integrity of the autofocus system, aperture control, metering, IBIS, and EXIF information, making it a reliable choice for both photography and videography.Weight Considerations:One of the main drawbacks of this adapter is its weight. While it adds a bit of heft to the camera setup, this is a trade-off for its solid construction. For users of mirrorless cameras like the Canon M100, which are designed to be lightweight and portable, this can be a significant downside. Holding the camera with one hand becomes challenging, especially for those with smaller or less strong hands. This is an area where the manufacturer could improve by using lighter materials without compromising on durability.Stability Issues:While my overall experience has been positive, there are occasional reports of stability issues. One user mentioned that the adapter's tight fit sometimes causes the autofocus to stop working, which can be resolved by adjusting the lens mount. This suggests that while the fit is generally secure, slight play can affect the communication between the camera and lens. It's important to ensure the adapter is properly seated and secure to avoid such issues.Comparison to Other Adapters:Compared to Canon's own adapters, which are often out of stock, the CM-EF-EOS adapter performs on par in terms of functionality and build quality. The autofocus speed and accuracy are similar, and there is no noticeable difference in image quality or light leakage. This makes it a great alternative, especially given the affordability and availability. Conclusion:Overall, the CM-EF-EOS adapter is a solid investment for Canon mirrorless camera users looking to utilize their existing EF and EF-S lenses. Its robust construction, flawless performance, and secure fit make it a reliable choice, despite the added weight. For those who can manage the extra heft, it provides excellent value and functionality, ensuring seamless integration with a wide range of lenses. Just be mindful of potential stability issues and ensure the adapter is securely attached to avoid autofocus interruptions.Rating: 4.5/5I hope this review helps you make an informed decision about the CM-EF-EOS adapter. If you have any specific questions or need further details, feel free to ask!
