Makes the Capture Clip even better.
Why did Amazon ask me to rate this on warmth, comfort, and thickness? Uhm....you know what, let's have fun with this. It's a lovely, warm, dark grey fabric. It feels really comfortable in the hand, not like it belongs there because it belongs on your belt, or your backpack strap or whatnot, but when I'm sliding my belt through it to get ready to carry my DSLR around at the ready..... goodness is it comfortable.Whatever they put in the back to stiffen it up has a perfect thickness to stiffen it.Ok that was fun but;The Capture Clip is like, like what I've always been waiting for, but never knew I needed it until I got one. Of course mounting it to your belt, sideways, is freaking super annoying. Drawing your camera one handed, awful. Putting the camera back o your belt sideways, awful. Having a reasonably weighty camera attached to the Capture Clip on a backpack strap, not bad really.Put the Pro Pad on there......that thick, warm, comfortable Pro Pad, well look out world. It does the following amazing things;Drops your camera down a little lower off of your belt. Now I can actually wear a flannel or other shirt and easily access my camera. Nothing is cooler than an aging hipster who can draw his DSLR the fastest during a high noon landscape shoot.Allows for real, easy, one handed access off of your hip. Now the quick release pin is right where my pinky wants to go. My eye says "wow, this could be a reat photo" and somehow my camera is just in my hands. Then when I'm done, it just slides straight down into the clip. Doing this all sideways is a stellar pain the tuckus.Adds firmness with its 5 star thickness to any mounting situation. Like let's say you pop the Capture Clip onto the shoulder strap of your goofy old Domke J-bag because you want to relive your glory days of backpacking overseas. You try to tug your camera out of the clip and the clip wiggles a bit, flexes the strap and whatnot. Pro Pad + thickness + stiffness = comfort and warmth at 5 star levels.tldr: if you're gonna hang your camera on your hip, get this. Gonna put it anywhere else, you might not need it.

Satisfied
Love the quality and functionality of this item one of a number of Peak Design items i own. A lot of thought goes into designing these items (shape, size, materials). Cheers, Peak Design!

Works exactly as expected
This is a perfect option for attaching your Capture Camera Clip horizontally rather than vertically on the belt. It makes it much easier (for me) to attached/detach the camera. I'm using a Nikon D800 with 24-70 lens. I have not yet tried it with a 70-200 lens.

A must have for Capture and a medium-heavy rig
I can't review how Capture works without this pad because I have used them in combination since I got it. I can image how there'd be belt or strap sag without it. The quality is great like other Peak Design products. While not the largest, my standard setup is a Canon R7 with Smallrig cage and an EF 70-200 f4 L. For that, I've had it on my backpack. When I get some smaller RF lenses I will use it on a belt from time to time.

seemed like an overpriced piece of fabric
Was looking at this to go with my 3.0 capture clip. Almost didn't buy this, seemed like an overpriced piece of fabric. Which it is, but it does seem well made with a solid backing and really does make the camera much more comfortable to carry if you mount on your belt. Instead of the clip being pinch between belt and hip it hangs lower making it easier to access and gives it a little bit of flexability when walking. This probably should have been included with the clip and yea it's overpriced but if comfort and usability are important to you I'd say buy it.

Better than I though it would be.
I got this just to see if this flap would solve the problem of using the clip on my belt. The answer is yes. If you like to travel light with your camera then this helps. I used it at 2 expos and didn't have any real issues of being in the way as long as you are aware of what's around you as you would with your camera anyways.

Doesn't seem to support the camera much better
I got this so I could attach the clip vertically to my belt, but it's not really stiff enough to support my APS-C mirrorless camera, and it really requires the hex screws to hold it tight enough to prevent sliding down or tilting during motion. Similarly, on a backpack, it offers a tiny bit of extra support but slides around without significant wrenching (again, with hex screws) and doesn't prevent help with straps bowing out under weight - the camera will still whack into your chest while walking so it doesn't fix my primary, but minor, issue with the clip system. For the money, I expected better (especially considering the thoughtfulness in other PD products.)
