Tom Sawyer drill press - My wife has fun using
This VEVOR 8" benchtop drill press has been an excellent addition to the workshop and did exactly what we needed it to do: drill clean holes in oyster shells without cracking them. The 5-speed range up to 3200 RPM and steady induction motor make it easy to find a speed that’s gentle enough for brittle material but still powerful and consistent. The compact size fits well on a bench, yet it feels stable while drilling, and the adjustable, tilting table helps position shells and other small projects at the right angle. For a reasonably priced press that handled a niche task like oyster shells “perfectly” and will also cover general wood and metal jobs, it has proven to be a very practical and versatile tool, that my wife works without asking me to handle her crafting projects.

Time to get one
Like most people, I don't have a large drill press lying around. When I needed to drill a hole on a board, I just hole my power drill and stay still as best I can. This is fine if you don't need perfectly aligned holes. If you DO, then you need to use a drill press, and this one is a bargain!! It's good quality, gets great results, it's easy to start up right out of the box, and wont damage your wallet too much (compared to most other brands). I also like the lighting function, it's very helpful.

Felt Like I Was Putting Together IKEA Furniture With The Instructions But The Machine Is Awesome.
Easy to assemble if you have a PHD in engineering 😂 seriously when will they make assembly instructions that are thorough and easy to understand? The machine works great once you feel like you just put something together from IKEA Love the laser feature and work light

Best for the money.
I purchased the 10inch 6.2amp drill press from Vevor. It was very straightforward to put together and it looks great. I've used it a bunch in the short time I've had it. It has a regular light and a laser that can pinpoint the spot the drill will end up. The both have they own power on buttons and you don't need batteries like some other models. The table is solid but small with no frills so you might want to make something to expand this depending on your needs. I think this is the best 10 inch drill press for the money that you can get right now. You also might think of purchasing an independent stand for it. Mine is sitting on the end of one of my large work benches.

Solid drill press for the price
Surprisingly sturdy for a small benchtop unit. The speed options cover everything I’ve needed so far, and the LED light is handy. It’s not a heavy-duty machine, but for everyday shop projects it’s been reliable. For the price, it does exactly what it should.

It is what it is.
Quality is decent. I did have to reinstall the nut the holds the idler pulley on as it was completely off. The motor is a little under powered but it does seem to do the job. The stroke on this thing is very short. I can’t drill straight through a 2” piece of square tubing without drilling one side, raising the deck and then drilling the other side. It also has some internal grinding drag to it. It’s smooth them it hits something during the stroke. The spring back is a little weak as well. The lever to loosen the deck clamp and adjust the deck height is a real pain. For the money though it drills holes in my unistrut just fine and saves my arms from wearing out using a hand held drill. I believe it’s worth the money. It’s not very loud and easy to assemble and adjust the speed. Do not buy this for quality that will last. This is for occasional light use. I have to use it once a month to put two 1/4” holes in 15 pieces of unistrut so it’s fine for what I need it for. Time will tell but for like $110 it’s not too bad.
