I bought this for my daughter after she had a paranoid moment over the hairs above her lip. Plucking, waxing and threading is all very fine once you get beyond your early teen years but for the wimpy among us, or those of us who can get away with just lightening any facial hair, this is a great alternative. It's exactly the same formula as it was the last time I used it (quite a few years ago now), with a separate little tube of powder and some thick cream in a tub. You get a dinky little mixing cup and spatula too. Mixing in the ratios stated on the box involves eyeballing the amount, nothing accurate. As I said, I used to use Jolen a lot myself for my top lip (before I took to tweezers) and I don't recall that exact science was required for mixing the ratios of cream and powder. As by my experience before, the cream kind of sits on the skin and can crack away and fall off quite easily so once you've smeared it across the skin above the lip, talking gets a bit tricky. But it also makes taking it off and gently washing (with cold water) a doddle - the cream kind of just sits on the hairs more than sticking to your skin. The cream gives a prickly sensation and can redden the skin for a short while but it's pretty harmless and really gentle compared to other methods. And it's effective. The bleaching agent is hydrogen peroxide which has many medicinal uses, and if used sensibly and carefully (including a skin patch test before using) is a really good way to deal with dark facial hair without pulling it out. A box of this should last you ages too if it's just being used for small areas. It's great value. It's good to see that Jolen are still producing this little box of magic - often the established brands are still being sold years on simply because they work so well. That's certainly true for Jolen.

Very good and effective. I had to stop waxing/threading bc I was afraid my upper lip hair was going to become thicker so I tried this and results were magical. My upper hair lip is brown/light brown and so it's visible, when I bleached it, it turned blond which was really nice. However you can still see bits of the hair on certain lights like when im in the shade or dark places. That aside, when the product starts to burn you need to wipe it off asap with cold water NEVER hot! Even the small 30ml can last you for a couple tries. You might also have to bleach your hair twice and that's ok! Also don't forget to watch a video on youtube and you're good to go!! :D

The product works ok, my package didn’t come broken like many others. This only really works on fine hairs, thick hairs like my legs and arms don’t really lighten as much. I tried to apply to my face 2-3 times to achieve a bleach blonde colour but I was only ever able to achieve a very light brown. It also burns a lot, perhaps just my skin.

Wow. My first time ever using cream bleach on my body hair. I had low expectations after reading the reviews here, but what a surprise!! I haven't tried it on thick hair yet i.e. underarms/legs etc, I used it primarily for my back where I have that soft fuzzy hair. I was going on a beach holiday and my back is particularly sensitive to other hair removal methods (I.e. wax). I have dark hair and a medium/dark complexion. I left it on for longer than it stated (approx 30-40mins). I found the tingling to be bearable, as well as the horrible bleach stench. It was SO WORTH IT! When I showered it off, I was in shock. It lightened my hair to perfection, not so much that you could see blonde hair in the sun, instead it just made me look hairless somehow. Didnt turn orange at all. Just like totally blended in with my skin colour and the hair was completely invisible to the naked eye. Best decision I ever made.

Really good for lightening eyebrows and facial hair. It changes your eyebrows from black to brown and it only takes 10 minutes. It's amazing how much softer lighter eyebrows make your face look. I use it about every 6 days as your eyebrows gradually start to go dark again I wish I'd discovered it years ago. I have sensitive skin and have never had a problem. If turns hair blonde above upper lip and doesn't leave red spotty marks behind like the facial strips do. People are using it on YouTube. This definitely works. Would recommend. PS. Just make sure you don't add too much powder as it will burn your skin.
