Curt 2022 Acura MDX Class 3 Trailer Hitch w/2in Receiver Boxed

Installed it on my wife's 2025 MDX solo while it was snowing. It's heavy but manageable. Luckily the threads of the weldnuts in the frame were okay since it was new ... but if not, I'd recommend you get a M14-1.5 tap and clean out the threads before bolting up the hitch. Also the pictures on the instruction sheet are useless, but you can download the PDF and enlarge it if you need to. This was the easiest of the Curt hitches I've installed and very happy with the quality. I wish they would recommend a harness.

Purchased for 2024 Honda Pilot. I used a floor jack that was placed in the center under the hitch to install. Raised it up and started a bolt on each side. If you have the door kick feature on your car you will need to relocate the sensor. It’s located directly in the center up ne’er the inner top of the bumper. No need to buy the Honda extender cord. Unscrew the 2 nuts holding it, pull the sensor wiring out of the first 2 wire holders. Move the sensor towards the drivers side of the car. Place the sensor on the backside of the Curt hitch and zip tie through the holes that were initially used for the mounting prior. Be sure to place on the backside of the hitch so it doesn’t catch water while driving. No need to replace or cut the silver piece above the hitch as recommended by Honda. Hitch fits perfect with no medications other than relocating of sensor

Fantastic build quality.Didn’t fit initially on my 2024 MDX, as the hands-free door sensor will not allow it to be installed.Sensor required removal, which was a huge pain.Instructions are decent, but didn’t mention anything about the Door opening sensor being an obstruction on the way on certain models. Had to watch a few YouTube videos to figure it out. Took about 60-75 mins to install.

I really like this one, because I did not have to cut or replace the lower bottom trim at the hitch location (the factory Acura hitch is not only more $, but the one I saw also requires you to replace that trim piece with another one so more $). I called Curt 1st to ensure this would in fact fit my 22 Type S. They insured me it would. Only exception was that the Hands Free Tailgate Sensor would have to be relocated. Not as hard as that all sounds. Just pop all (small size) wire harnesses, move the sensor control out of your way first, then install the trailer hitch. Do yourself a favor (because of the sensor) get another set of hands to install. I had read reviews that it would not work with my donut spare that I added (because Type S MDX requires 19" spare), IT DOES! After mounting the hitch (6 included bolts only) then relocate that sensor command box. I moved mine to the left of where it was already mounted (left meaning looking out the rear of the vehicle from UNDER the vehicle backwards). I drilled a hole in that aluminum lower trim frame (not the solid square tubing bumper). I then used 2 cable ties to neatly place all wires up out of harms way. Installation was great. Now I just kick to the right of the trailer hitch to activate the HFA on the tailgate. Works fabulous! I would definitely recommend this, especially if it is the Type S.

I didn't install it myself, but I took it to a shop. They installed it without any problems. They did have to adjust the spare tire a little bit to make room for the hitch, but that's all.

Very nice hitch for my 2024 Honda Pilot, but does lose HFA feature, but thats ok.Process to install is simple, but difficult for 1 person since its heavy. Just lower spare tire and 6 bolts to bolt on. Tried using a jack at first to hold one side while I level and install the other, but kept slipping off. Finally with help it was very simple to install with two people holding each side, line up to the holes and bolt on. Looks great too, but does lose feature for my HFA feature for the tailgate release, but its ok.

Wasn't sure about putting a non OEM product on my 22 MDX, but this is extremely sturdy and attractive. Maybe sits a bit lower than the factory hitch. I did the install myself and the hardest part was getting the bolts in. Make sure the holes under the car are VERY clean with a brush and rust removing lube. The tolerances are tight. One bolt took all my strength turning it an 1/8th a turn a time and I'm quite the in-shape guy.

Fit perfectly for my 2022 Acura MDX, took about 45 min to install. Did it by myself and used zip ties to hold it up, once I got one bolt screwed in it went smoothly.
