Q: I get static and crackling noises every so often from my walkie talkies when they are on but not being used. Is this normal? Any way to fix?

It means someone on the channel but to far away. Change Channel

Q: Could this unit be used on a cruise ship & could it be used in the various countries visited around the world?

Hi I found that the construction of the ship (metal) with all its decks and cabins hampered the walkie talkies reception to each other. If you were on deck then there were no problems but if one person were to be below deck then the signal would be lost. However, when we used these in Egypt and in open space these were a life saver....reception was awesome and would highly recommend for day trips & the like.

Q: how do i know when when the radios are fully charged,the indicator just goes around forever

Ours does the same. We charge for about 8 hours. After they are used we fully discharge the battery.
