Q: Can this be wired to the mains/an indoor light switch and can the motion sensor be turned off so the light is constant?

Yes, via a spur, socket or switch is fine fused at 3amp.The sensor has no adjustment it automatically comes on at dusk and the light comes on when motion is detected.

Q: Is it safe to add a plug to this and plug into a socket or does it need to be wired in?

Hi this totally safe to put a plug on that way you can switch the power to it of if you have to do anything to it .

All you do is connect the light to power and it automatically comes on in the dark for about 30 seconds when activated. There are no settings with the fitting.
