Filippo Berio Pesto, Classic Basil, 6.7 Ounce Glass Jar

Tomato ricotta pesto. This is worth every penny. I first purchased this sauce a couple of years ago and it was only a few dollars. I fell in love with it immediately and I don't care for jarred pesto. However, it was cheap and I didn't realize how small the jar is. A little goes a long way though. It's so full of flavor. I took my first taste with a spoon out of the jar and had to stop myself from devouring it. You can use it on toasted baguette, too. It was unavailable for quite a while and I had saved one jar and it stayed fresh for a couple of years! I used it last week. I thought, I wonder if it's back on Amazon again? It was, and I bought 10 jars. Boom! I'm going to buy some more and hoard. Especially knowing it stayed fresh, just a little separation, but still wonderful. I personally don't mind paying a little more for such a lovely product that all my family loves. I kinda don't want everyone to know about it because I'm afraid it will be sold out, lol! However, I can't be a meanie and not let you know how freaking delicious it is.Mine was packaged in bubble wrap and delivered safely to my door.Enjoy!

Pros-as most say flavor, nice glass jar, robust aftertaste, etc etc but…..Wow!! Whatta value vs others in that size & my seller wrapped it up in bubble wrap like a faberge egg! Fast to SF too.Will buy more now that Summer soon as it’s outta this world as a cold pasta salad with a tad of parm to top off!🏆Cons-none mama Mia🏌️‍♂️

It smells amazing and tastes really good, but it’s a very heavy taste and is on the thicker side. May need to thin it out some if you don’t like that kind of sauce.

The jars leaked some in the box. Just jars, no bubble wrap or protection. Tastes okay though.

Overall it is one of the most-best-tasting jar sauces my family and I have ever tasted!It is EXCELLENT on Pappardelle pasta! It is everything I love in a tomato-based sauce and with the added pesto and ricotta, it just escalated this for me to now my favorite prep-made sauce.The one issue I have is the price and the size of the jar. Too much for so little. The jar is the size of a cup of tea [6oz], less than an actual cup [8oz].Keep in mind, most children's juice boxes are about 6 ounces each. So for my family of 4, I would have to buy at least 4 jars. A jar per person approx. in my own opinion. Depending on other factors such as appetite, the pasta that's chosen, etc.Yet, DO NOT LET THE PRICE STOP YOU FROM TRYING THIS SAUCE AT LEAST ONCE!Real good stuff!!!

Pesto, ricotta and tomato sauce is easy to add to any pasta dish. It’s a small jar that works for approximately a half pound of pasta. Of course, it’s a matter of preference. My friend who introduced me to this sauce uses only about half the jar per half pound of buttered pasta. She’s also mixed in standard tomato sauce which she liked. I’ve tried it both ways and liked both. Picture above shows spaghetti made with the sauce directly from the jar. I think it’s delicious!
