They can hold hot water, but it is recommended not to pour boiling water directly into the cold brew coffee maker because it is made of glass and may break due to the sudden addition of boiling water.

Q: How do I use this? Just bought this and there are no instructions. To brew the coffee does the coffee go in the filter or in the jar and then strauge

To make 48 oz of cold brew I coursely grind 1.5 cups of Amazon Just Bright light roast coffee beans then put the grounds in the filter. Then I pour 48 oz of water into the jar. After that I put the filter into the water and add more water into the filter until the jar is almost full. Then I use a butter knife to stir the grounds around in the filter to be sure all the grounds are wet. Lastly I put the closed lid on the jar and let it sit at room temperature for 12 hours. Then I take the filter out and put it in a bowl to get the rest of the water drained, and add the liquid back into the jar of cold brew.

Q: What's the ideal steeping time for this mason jar pitcher, should I keep it in the fridge or at room temperature?

It can vary depending on personal preference, but generally, for a cold brew, keeping it in the fridge for 12-24 hours provides the best flavor. For a faster brew, you can leave it at room temperature for around 8-12 hours.
