He needs some light bulbs for my house and I bought these and believe me I loved them, they illuminate a lot, the warm light is pleasant and perfect for the home. I purchased this to get a bright very bright screaming lights for my garage. Rated at 5000 Lumens and 40 Watts. A Regular old fashioned 100 Watt Bulb is about 1200-1400 Lumens so this should be nearly FOUR TIMES BRIGHTER. The seller is proud of these bulbs at $12 per bulb so I did not think this would be a Cheap Cheapy Cheesy Buyer expecting something stupendous at a ridiculously low low price so buyer got what they deserved-I was willing to pay to play as witnessed by my purchase of a $12 light bulb. Unfortunately the Rating was in Chinese-Dog Watt/Lumens and not in Human-Watt/Lumens and I did not think I had to convert it back to the real 15 Watt 1200 Lumens that this puts out, you know like a 49 year old human is physically as old as a 7 year old dog. I had purchased some 1500-3000 Lumen LED's and this was not even close to that. Both of these Bulbs were dimmer than an old fashioned 100 Watt light Bulb. My test meter only registered 15 watts-barely. You are paying a much higher price at $12 a bulb than a real 1400 Lumen 100W equivalent LED Bulb that costs $3 per bulb or less and getting something putting out much less light/lumens than these much cheaper bulbs. The three other types of brighter LED bulbs I purchased at the same time from Amazon (150-200Watt equivalent, 200-250Watt equivalent, 300W equivalent), all with a way cheaper price per bulb put out way more light though the ratings were generous there as well as I would say they were slightly less than 150 Watt, 200 Watt, and 250 Watt equivalent respectively-and that is stretching it a bit..... but no stupidly over rating that these expensive bulbs have. I selected the 40W 5000 LUMEN 5000 K Bulbs. I received the two bulbs in a box labeled 40 Watt 5000 Lumens 5000K. The Bulb was also marked 40W 5000 Lumens 5000K-so there was no error unless it was marking and packaging at the factory, which I doubt. Chinese sellers have learned if you label something five times more powerful than what they are selling is then they can beat their competitor as the majority of buyers (we fat complacent Americans) don't notice the difference and don't complain-and feel smug in our smart purchasing practices. Unfortunately this means you need to divide by five or ten or twenty to convert to American Specification Units of Measure. The sellers probably learned this from Detroit, where the car makers and sellers added racing stripes and flames on the hood claiming it made the car go faster-and most buyers felt that it did and happy they were smart and paid more for the faster car than their neighbor. I do not like this Chinese Seller Practice of overstating every spec-it ruins it for everyone as you never know if you are supposed to divide by FIVE, or was it TEN, or was it TWENTY. This truly does make it extremely hard to be a smart buyer in purchasing exactly what you want-no more, no less, ..... and knowing you are getting the true value of your purchase.

I've bought these a few times over the years as they give a bright light and fit in my two small wall lamps. However, some rows of the "corn cobb" will fail after some time, reducing the output before the whole light fails. I've gotten about a year max before I notice the failures, working in a home office M-F about 10h a day with the light on. If the lifespan of the entire light could be improved, this would be a 5 star product.

Could not get bulbs bright enough for a ceiling mount Tiffany shade that had darker glass. These bulbs worked great!

My old bulbs were dimming so I was in the market for some better, modern and longer lasting led bulbs. They were easy to install with no extra components needed. Wow are they bright! I just hope my neighbors don't get mad by how bright they are.
