Q: What is the difference between this filter and the cheaper woder-10k-dc?

Both http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0144MFPOA and http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MPGRUNW got the same media, ie - incorporates a specially blended carbon/silver into the filter media. Both also comes as a complete assembled kit. However, the Gen2 includes a smart head with a built-in valve, so it gets replacement filters when needed (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0144MFN92), while the 10K-DC must be replaced as a whole system.

Q: is it fluoride the only chemical this system cannot remove. please list others if any.

The Woder 10K Gen II water filter is listed to remove Chlorine, Lead, Heavy Metals, contaminants and bad tastes and odors. The http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0126EN5NQ is listed to remove Fluoride (95%), Chlorine, Lead, Heavy Metals, contaminants and bad tastes and odors.

Q: i want to put this in my rv but we only take a hand full of trips a year. is it acceptable to let the product sit in storage for an extended period?

Sure, as long as it will not be exposed to colder than 37f degrees. Usually RV owners tends to purchase one of our inline water filter. ie - if you have a 1/4" plastic / copper water line, then will https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KTWTFXG fit. if you have a 3/8" plastic / copper water line, then https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KTWTKAO will fit.

My fridge, a Whirlpool side by side circa 2009 (GC5NHAXSxxxx), dispenses filtered water and makes ice with a filter in place. It dispenses unfiltered water with no filter in place. I was unfamiliar with dummy filters until just now. So, if I were to use this filter, I'd install it under my sink and direct the output to my fridge. There would be no filter in my fridge. But: I would take a look at the spot where the fridge filter used to connect and make sure it was not vulnerable to invasion by bugs or mold or all that junk that accumulates under fridges. A dummy filter would be ideal, if they make one for my fridge. To summarize: There are refrigerators that have built-in filtration and can operate with no filter in place, even without a dummy filter.
