Nice and sturdy
The mounts that come stock with the G1W dashcam are okay and last a little while, but get wobbly, break and just generally fail. I needed to get sturdier and more reliable mounts for our rear facing G1W's, so I purchased a pair of these iSaddle mounts. They don't fit the G1W, but taking a box cutter knife and trimming away a little of the square on this mount allows it to then work with the G1W. It was a really easy no-brainer. We've had these iSaddle mounts for over a week now and I'm happy with them. They seem well-built and very sturdy. More so than the stock G1W mount. This product seems like one that will last a long time.

Fits the Yi Smart Dash Cam PERFECTLY
For those considering the Yi Smart Dash Cam, Amazon currently sells the “International version”. One downside is that only the “Chinese Version” comes with a suction cup mount (among a few other differences) for mounting in your vehicle. The rest of the world gets a “3M Peel and Stick” mount. I want to be able to remove the camera for cleaning and use in another vehicle. I'm also not the most decisive, so my luck I would mount it in one spot and then realize I want to move it.I took a chance on this mount after looking at the images on Amazon for both the iSaddle and Yi Smart Dash Cam and ordered both.SHIPPING AND PACKAGINGThe Seller was SADDLE LTD. The item came in a small colorful box that oddly enough didn't have a picture of the item itself. Instead it had images of several other mounts. I was relieved to find the correct one inside the box. The bar code label was for the correct mount, so they obviously use one box for several mounts. The item arrived in 2 days in accordance with my Prime shipping.INSTALLINGI was taken back at how small the Yi mount actually is compared to the iSaddle. The mount is relatively small but is HUGE in comparison to the Yi mount.A close inspection revealed that the portion that goes into the camera of the iSaddle mount was about the same size as the Yi mount. An even closer inspection let me know that fundamentally the design is nearly identical. Although ever so slightly shaped different, the key dimensions are the same.I first installed the OEM (Yi) mount to get a feel of how tight the parts should fit. The iSaddle took the same force and to install and the mount is SOLID. The locking tab is the same distance from the mounting plate as the Yi’s mount and allows it to 'click' into place just like the Yi mount with no modification required. The suction cup is very strong and holds to the windshield of my car very securely. Removing it was a small chore, due to how well it stuck to the glass but this is good thing! For reference, the current temps here currently are about 71-74 degrees during the day with a relatively humidity between 36 and 48 percent.ADJUSTINGThe adjustments are sturdy and fell solid when loosening and tightening, which feels better than the price tag would suggest. The tilting mechanism has a nice solid click as you ratchet it through its range of motion before locking it down with a knob. The ball and socket joint felt a bit rubbery (which will probably aid retention), but swiveled smoothly and locked when the adjusting nut was tightened.CONCLUTIONHow this will work in your car with what dash cam or device is dependent on several factors, including your person taste, the device being mounted and the slope of the windshield it is mounted in. For me and the Yi Smart Dash cam this worked out perfectly. The Yi must still be fairly new because I am surprised at how little information there is about this camera and it's mounting. I hope this information will help someone who is considering the Yi but like me have concerns with mounting due to the mount it is sold with. The build is very nice and sturdy and is a real bargain at the current $8 price. For those not familiar with the Yi Smart Dash Cam you can search YouTube, and you can get it here on Amazon: YI Smart Dash Camera Car DVR Night Vision HD 1080P, GrayDISCLAIMER: No, I do not work for Yi, but this camera gets some great reviews on the web, has very good picture quality for the money. I plan on reviewing it after I have had it for a few days.If my pictures come thru:• Size comparison to the Yi OEM mount• Comparison of the locking mechanisms (Yi vs. iSaddle)• iSaddle mounted to my Yi smart Dash Cam.I will attempt to update this review should anything change in my opinion of the iSaddle mount.

Ease of use and strong suction.
It was a better than original mount replacement. Cannot give 5 stars until I get two years of use and no issues occur with sunlight degradation of suction pad material. Original mount pad cracked after 11/2 years (rated this about 2 due to poor suction and difficulty mounting).

Worked for 1 week. Falls of daily now.
I purchased two of these, along with a pair of Yi Dash Cams. One of them fell off after about 4 days. My personal one was on my windshield without fault for about 8 days. Then when I was at work overnight, I got to my car only to find it on the floorboard. The Sticky substance on the stand is perfect, to this day 3/4 weeks later it still as sticky as the day i opened it. But the suction part of the design is awful. If i leave my camera on the windshield overnight, i find it on the floorboard or the seat the next morning. At this point, im concerned my Yi Dash will break from a fall to the center dash.DO NOT BUY, I can't remember the last time I wrote a review for something, trust me, if you bought the Dashcam and a good card, dont cheap out on the mount, getting into your car and finding your $175 worth of items on the floor.

Doesn't work
It will not work for my camera as advertised. I will have to modify it to make it fit so it can be used. Looks like a good product. But it will not fit as advertised. Good price but will need to be modified.

Very firm suction!
I've only had it for a few weeks, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I love it. I bought a Vicovation dash cam. The suction cup that came with it was embarrassing. Even when it was new, there was slop between the suction cup part and the rigid part, meaning that no matter how well I stuck it to my windshield, it would always wobble around. As time went on in the Florida sun, it became more like a pendulum and eventually it kind of lost it's ability to stick. The Vicovation mount came with two different mounting methods. One was a sort of cage you snap the camera into, which I preferred because it was easy to remove the camera quickly when getting in and out of the car. The cage had the ball on it and it was just a little bit smaller than the ball on this iSaddle and so it wouldn't fit in the socket and allow me to tighten it. However, the mount that comes on the iSaddle, as in the picture must be some kind of standard because I was able to just stick the camera directly on it and it holds firmly, which makes it more difficult to remove, but that's not a fault of this product. In fact that's a virtue because you would want it to be tight for video, right? So without having to make some kind of ghetto modification to the mount, I was able to just stick it and go! The best part, though, was that when the iSaddle was mounted to the window and the little lever was pushed down, it was stuck very firmly to the window, not like the old Vicovation mount. So now the video is nice and stable. Plus it has just the right amount of friction so I can adjust the angle of the dash cam without having to loosen anything, yet it stays firmly in place. The only drawback I can see is that I don't think the clear sucker part that failed on the Vicovation will last any longer on the iSaddle. I think it's just a property of the material and it doesn't agree with the hot Florida sun. It should be noted that I have no experience with the product in cold weather whatsoever. This year it just never got cold here. Sorry northerners.
