AMY THE G.O.A.T - Greatest of all Time

Refreshing and uplifting!
Brought this as a gift for my 9 year old niece and she hasn't put it down, in fact she's halfway through her second read through already! I read it myself first to make sure it was appropriate and I have to say it was enjoyable as an adult as well - funny, uplifting and beautifully illustrated with a nice meaning to it. Plus who doesn't love a GOAT!?It's also really refreshing to read a book by a talented new author rather than the tired trope of famous celebrities knocking out book after book!I'd highly recommend this book for kids and even adults! A great read.

An absorbing read, which draws the reader in to know more!
'Never judge a book by its Cover!' the saying goes.In this case it is not true!A vibrant eye catching cover which draws the reader within, not to be disappointed.A bokk to be read on several levels, amazing characters, funny similes, lovely character illustrations, a book for children, but also enjoyable for adults. Some serious subjects discussed in a philosophical, lighted hearted manner.Fully recommend.

Wonderfully Funny, Heart-warming and Hopeful Book
I was recommended this book for my nieces and godchildren and read it before gifting it and WOW am I glad I did! It is amusing and beautifully observed and it's so easy to conjure up Amy and the other characters in your mind (the mum was a particular favourite of mine). Each character is so believable and everyone will find something in the story that resonates with their life experience. The illustrations are also fantastic! Brilliant debut - I would recommend it to everyone no matter their age!

Lovely book, really funny - perfect for my niece
I bought this book for my niece's birthday and she is absolutely loving it. She's a big reader and loves David Walliams but has read them all and got a bit bored, and wanted to try something by a different author. This delightful book actually reminds me of Roald Dahl - it's really funny, great characters and the illustrations are perfect for the story, like Quentin Blake's used to be for Dahl's. Hugely recommend it, and look forward to reading the next one!

A hilarious & heartwarming story
Heard about this book from my friend’s daughter - it’s brilliant. A lovely, Roald Dahlish story that is funny and heartfelt in equal measure. The characters are brilliant, feel like I met them all in my own life. Some of the lines made me guffaw out loud too! And the story is all about really important things like figuring out who are, family and finding the confidence to be yourself. All in all a brilliant story. That’s my nieces’ and nephews’ birthday presents sorted for this year!

Funniest children's book we've read!
Funniest book we have read in a long time! Feels very Mr Gun in humour, very whacky and fun and perfect for both children and their grown ups. I read this with my 7 year old son and we keep laughing about it , pretending to eat the pages out of the book like a goat would and randomly shouting "Meeeeeh!" The author has a brilliant sense of humour. Also lovely that a percentage of sales of the book are donated to charity!

“Achoooo! ACHOOOO!”
Some people are allergic (like me, of course), but Colin says “Achoooo!” A LOT!. But our hero is a 10 year old named Amy Bloomsy, and she may be going to be EXPELLED from school! [Amy has Stamp-Collecting class (which she HATES!)] GULP! Amy’s Mother is MUM, and she’s TERRIFIC! But there’s a circus coming and she wants to stand on her head, while balancing on a camel’s hump. Amy has a brother, Sebastián (but I don’t know what he does). And then Amy finds the GOAT (Amy’s best friend)! In English the goat says “Mehhhhhhhhhhhh!.” But the goat talks in perfect French and the name is “Õogly”. [Is the real English name “UGLY”?] “If it weren’t for Amy’s wonderfully improving grades, especially in French, they would have EXPELLED her weeks ago!”Here are some other folks:Mrs (the Hula Hoop Helen) Dribblebum was Amy’s old math teacher! “She’s almost 100! She retired years ago.”At school, there were TWINS: Sara and Sarah. [Does this really happen?]Amy’s parents wanted her to do “Extra-Complicated-Mathematics”. “But she was never happy about that.”A cat named Stewart said “Mehhhhhhhhhh,” at which Colin went NUTS!The book AMY THE G.O.A.T. GREATEST OF ALL TIME was AMAZING!!! The author is by LOUISEEE WITH THREE E’S and illustrated by ROB PAGE. (Is R.P. actually LWT3E?) When’s the next one? I can’t wait!
