So far so good
1 week into using this product here is my review. It says 2 people to assemble. Yes 2 people would of made it easier but I was alone so 1 person is all you need. Fit and function. So far it is very easy to use, easy to switch exercises and provides a lot of exercise options which is good to keep variety alive. Only negative I would say is if I was much taller it would be some hitting of your head when you lay down on the machine. I am 6’4 and have to i love you down and make sure I am as far to the leg part as possible to not hit my head. Overall seems very sturdy and well made and I am happy with this purchase. I am using this for a total body workout while in a small work apartment. Folding option for more space when not using it is great.

This is a great system - especially in that it provides an aerobic rowing option - yup...rowing! This thing is actually fun to use. Has a holder (two red things on main vertical beam) that adjust to hold whatever device you put in there...for your phone/tablet to watch video while you row or listen to music etc while working out. This is a very high quality made device. Easy to assemble (states two persons required - I did it alone in about 2 hours going at a casual pace, however I would recommend asking for help moving the box as it weighs 144lbs...did that alone too...but was definitely a challenge getting it to our basement). Took up less space than I thought, meaning I thought I would have to leave a lot of space to the sides to account for the power rods to bend outward...but they stay close to the machine somehow so I was able to put it a lot closer to a wall than expected on one side. Also - the long front part folds up to get it out of the way if needed. Using this system has been easy and the booklet includes many different workout routines. Assembly tip - do not use the included weird "wrenches", if they could be called that, go find a separate wrench and separate socket wrench with right sized socket to use on the nuts and bolts.

Good investment
It's great, does the job. I've been able to get a good workout at home targeting most muscle groups. I have found several helpful YouTube channels that provide different types of workouts. It was a breeze to setup. I'm satisfied with my purchase. The Bowflex is built to last for many years to come, so it's worth the investment. I purchased the Amazon service for having it delivered inside the door of my house for $9.99 The guys were great and it worked out perfectly.

Not good for short people
The quality of the machine is amazing. The assembly instructions are very good, but I did have to buy a better wrench which gave me more power. As a 70 year old petite woman, I had to take the box apart where it was left by my back door and carry a few parts in at a time. I was able to put several pieces together myself, but needed a third hand for final assembly. Unfortunately my body ached for several days due to some of the positions I found myself in while assembling. My score reflects the fact that this machine does not work for very short people....I am under 5'. The handles are a foot long which makes the rowing function useless plus there is no way to secure your feet. I cannot do any exercises in the partial horizontal position. In addition being so short makes the leg lift function useless. I did write Nautilus twice about the handles as the material states that is the best way to reach them. However they never responded....so much for customer service. My machine is brand new, barely used and I plan on selling it to someone who would come get it. Needless to say I cannot move it.

Good fitness equipment, Room for improvement
As a multifunctional home fitness equipment, the price is reasonable, the functions are relatively complete, and the quality is good. It is more convenient to adjust the intensity and replace the function, and it is worth investing in it for easy exercise at home. The fly in the ointment is that the rowing machine doesn't work very well. Missing pedals, the foot is on the middle bar, the position is too high. The human body needs to adapt, and the position of the pedal should adapt to the human body. Secondly, the rowing action is to kick the legs first and then bend the arms. The legs are weak and the arms are too strong. In the online teaching video, it is proposed to buy an elastic rubber belt, put it on the column, and provide it for the arms to pull. This is neither convenient nor safe. Room for improvement.

Easy to use & Does more exercises than you know.
Super fast shipping. Cardboard box was wet due to heavy downpours and it was still intact.Everything inside was package well & secure. I have included pictures of hardware and items packaged perfectly inside. The box is very heavy, delivery man used a dolly and I had a helper to move through out my house to get it in the desired room. Resistance rods are 105 lbs on each side... they feel like they are not true to its weight (example:10 lb feels like 5 lbs) There are many other exercises you can do that are not included in the manual/exercise book... I got the extra tips from my physical therapist. This PR 1000 is to fit fit/ toned... not for adding bulk. If you are a gym rat then go to the gym. This home gym is great for the whole family pre teen to seniors ... great for beginners and those who want/need activity instead of being a couch potatoe. It works your whole body. putting it together does require 2 people. The directions are clear pictures. it was easy ... however it took 2 1/2 hours... due to unpacking all items, sorting, & making sure I was doing everything right. It comes with a belt you wear around lower waist so you can row/leg press & 2 hand pulls. Some people complain that they have to change the rods and/ or location of pulleys depending on what exercise they want to do ... my own opinion on that is ... how lazy can one be ? If you were using a weight stack machine you would still have to remove the pin and adjust your desired weight... if they think it slows you down... it’s okay to take a breather. I purchased the e-z curl bar directly from the manufacturer to add to my home gym ( Amazon doesn’t sell it) There is a Video on Bowflex’s website showing you how to do the exercises and recommend reps... however I find it useless because it is printed in the manual. Media rack is a plus for music/ videos ( older model doesn’t have it) This bowflex pr 1000 home gym is priced cheaper on Amazon than from the manufacturer itself and its a lot cheaper than having a family membership at my local gym... plus it so convenient No driving miles to get to the gym, extra gas and time& fitting gym time into everyones schedule. it is a solid, well made product... all welded areas are done good. The seat back ... when you want it to lay down ... it doesn’t lay & LOCK into place... your weight keeps it down. (think of a over stuffed blanket/toy chest that doesn’t lay flat , until you sit on it.. when you get up ..it doesn’t still lay completely down). One of the soft foam rolls has a slight tear/ cut wrong ... but I’m guessing it will still hold up just as well as the other 3 rolls included. If you happen to need help while putting it together, bow flex employees are only a phone call away and they are willing to help even if you didn’t directly purchase from them. There is a little bit of weight to lift in order to fold it up (to reduce footprint size). To fold it up, you need to remove the bench seat backing( put it elsewhere in your home...manual doesn’t give this step/direction. However... it is very easy to fold. I am happy with my purchase, it fits our purposes.I would recommend this product.

More of a Gym Supplement
COVID-19 is destroying my workout regime, so I had to find some sort of solution to prevent my body from turning to pure dough. This Bowflex system was the best solution for me in terms of affordability and physical space. Setup was much easier than I expected, taking me about just an hour by myself. I had already looked over the manual, which gave me a good idea on what to expect from this system, so I knew that legs would be out of the question. I also knew I'd need to get a few extra items, like a V-Bar and Straight Bar. After a few weeks of use, I've found that this machine is more of a gym supplement than any sort of replacement. Going back to legs, there's no way you'll get a good leg workout on this. As with most home gyms, there's a foam knob that sits at the end of the machine where leg workouts are done. I never understand why these type of machines use this foam on the backside of the knee, as it puts your legs in such an odd position when doing leg extensions. The machine also comes with a back band for doing leg presses and other workouts, but this just did not feel comfortable for me at all. However, as mentioned before, I knew that legs would be out of the question for me on this device. This model of Bowflex excels in chest workouts, and I definitely got the most burn during chest days. The lower pulleys accompanied with the incline bench allowed me to perfectly work the high, mid, and low of my chest. Shoulder workouts were my second best workout on this, although I had to get into some weird sitting and standing positions in order to really make things work. Arm workouts were ok, but I found myself having to stand on blocks to get a better range of motion for curls, and as mentioned earlier, I did need to purchase additional accessories to complete my arm workouts, especially for triceps. Unfortunately, back work-outs were a struggle, as rows felt awkward and I couldn't get a good burn as I do with a straight-bar, bent row. The lower back was also nearly impossible to get any type of good work-out on. All-in-all, for the price and tiny footprint this machine takes up when folded, it is still a good supplement for when you can't make it to the gym. However, anyone expecting this to replace their gym membership will be sorely disappointed.
