Star Wars: The Last Jedi Visual Dictionary

Over the last year or two, I've been getting more and more into Star Wars books. Digging into the lore and getting backstories that add so much depth to characters that have been around for 40 years has been such a delight for a self-proclaimed Star Wars geek like myself. So, naturally, when I heard that the Visual Dictionaries were a great source of Star Wars info, I had to get in on the action myself. And boy, I was not disappointed! The book is brimming with high-quality photos and schematics from start to finish. Written by Pablo Hidalgo, part of the Lucasfilm Story Group, it dives into each section of the film and provides a lot of information on both the bigger things (literally massive things like the Supremacy) and the smaller details, like the design of Snoke's slippers. The book even goes so far to provide backstories to minor characters who only have seconds of screen time. While it may seem unnecessary and inconsequential, I personally find that these small touches make me feel more immersed in the story that unfolds on screen, especially when you see the film on multiple viewings. One minor gripe some people may have is that it doesn't take very long to flick through the whole thing. However, if you do take the time to scour every page for the tiny details and gorgeous visuals, you'll definitely get a lot out of this book! If you're a fan of The Last Jedi, and you want to find out more about the worlds and characters of the film, then I would absolutely recommend getting the Visual Dictionary!

For those who want to go deeper in the Star Wars franchise

Lovely hardback book featuring lots of nice images. It could be a bit thicker and include more but to be honest there is quite a lot packed into the book considering its relatively small size. What I like most about the book is it gives you lots of little details that enrich the Star Wars universe and particularly the characters, locations and creatures of The Last Jedi movie. Some people may be disappointed that it's not a bit thicker but at the price I think it's very reasonable. It's a nice addition to any Star Wars collection so if you are a fan then grab it.

As I say in the title, visually the new trilogy is as good as it gets at times. The design of the various armors, weapons, and so on and then the visual flare showcased in the art books (not these visal dictionaries) really highlights the strengths of this more recent trilogy. So if you're interested in this side of it, these books are definitely worth it. Especially at the moment seeing how they actually go petty cheap (at the time of writing this).

Easy to read for kids who are fans of star wars. Also great for parents who are fans as well as book contains loads of cool details and star wars info. Clear text and great pictures.

An awesome companion book for the movie that helps fill in some much-needed backstory, although I'm a strong believer in that a movie should give you all the information you require! The photos are great for checking out the designs for costumes, vehicles. weapons and props, meanwhile the descriptions provide additional insight that isn't all to obvious in the film. It’s a good read and a fantastic recap of all the new characters, vehicles, weapons, props and creatures we see in the movie.

Absolute bargain - bought 3 books for just £2 each. My 7 year old son has 1 - he loves it and the other 2 will be used as birthday presents. My son is an advanced reader however and this book would suit older children too. Full of lots of interesting info and great illustrations. Any Star Wars fan would love this.

Great visual book but lacks lots of props, also the use of some older photos make it inaccurate, as example kylo ren’s lightsaber is the force awakens lightsaber not the repatterned one for the last jedi also the info says it has a part cut out for i Easy upgrade and changing parts, when we know it’s not true after watching the movie, it was modified to have the crossguard and red crystal later. The Rogue One visual Dictionary seemed better for props reference

Libro ben fatto, disegni e descrizioni soddisfacenti, ovvio non si scopre nulla di nuovo se non piccoli dettagli. Acquistato da Eaglebooksltd a un prezzo inferiore ma spedendo dall’inghilterra ci ha messo di più e senza possibilità di tracciare il pacco (arrivato comunque nuovo, integro ed un giorno prima della data stimata) Consiglio a tutti gli appassionati! El libro llegó en perfecto estado, nuevo y sin ningún desperfecto. Al empezar a hojear Star Wars Visual Dictionary: Episode VIII, lo primero que llama la atención es lo visual: ilustraciones claras, buen papel y un diseño muy cuidado. Es agradable de mirar y funciona bien como libro para echar un vistazo de vez en cuando. Con el uso, la sensación es que el contenido se queda algo superficial. Los textos son breves y muchas explicaciones no profundizan demasiado, así que se lee rápido y no aporta tanta información nueva como esperaba. Más que un libro para leer con calma, es uno para consultar o tener como complemento. En general, me parece un libro correcto y bonito para fans de la saga, pero no imprescindible. Está bien como pieza de colección, aunque si buscas contenido más detallado o profundo, puede dejarte con ganas de más.

Este novíssimo dicionário visual da DK Editora (em inglês) é mais uma autêntica "obra-prima" que trará à luz informações valiosíssimas (e o que é melhor: canônicas!) sobre o Episódio 8 de Star Wars! Ilustrações fotográficas nítidas, de alta resolução, em material de primeiríssima qualidade, em cores realísticas e com detalhes "ocultos" do grande público! Muito bom material para pesquisas e que ainda poderão gerar ainda mais aprofundamento no universo canônico de Star Wars! Material em CAPA DURA, com a qualidade de sempre, da DK! Recomendo aos colecionadores brasileiros!

Excelente Libro de DK books con toda la información de personajes,criaturas,naves y planetas de la película. Nunca decepcionan Ojalá mantengan el mismo formato y tamaño la editorial.
