Working with rulers
Love the tabs on this ruler , making it easy to stop and start .The lines on this ruler help me stay aligned. The thickness is perfect it is well made . I would love it if they made one that is double in size.

My favorite ruler for my longarm quilting
I dropped one of these on my cement floor and it broke in half so I bought a new one. Came in pristine condition and timely. I found that I can still use the broken halves from the old one for tighter spaces so wasn't a total lose. Some people complain this ruler is cloudy, but there are plastic protective sheets on both sides and once you remove them it is perfectly clear with distinct lines.

Great starter ruler for longarming
I used this ruler for curves and for echoing inside small square blocks. The printed made it easy to get consistent spacing. This ruler is easy to use and convenient. It’s also thick enough that the ruler foot would not run over the edge.

Excellent multipurpose quilting ruler
Nice, multipurpose tool for quilting short distances. This is useful for quilting lots of little places, where you want to use a ruler. It can turn a corner and it can work its way around a curvy applique, if you're pretty adept with using a ruler when you are quilting. I have a sit-down longarm and use rulers with it. I used to sometimes use rulers with my domestic sewing machine, but that is definitely trickier; still, I wouldn't be afraid to try it that way. I don't think this should be your first ruler to use while quilting. I think your first one should be a straight one about two inches wide and eight to ten inches long, and with lengthwise markings 1/4 inch apart. It should go without saying that any ruler you use to guide you while you are quilting should be 1/4" thick. Otherwise, your quilting foot can jump up on it and your needle will hit it and you MAY mess up your machine's timing. This can be your second ruler.

Liked it but it seemed too small for what I wanted to do so it was returned
I purchased this ruler before I actually practiced doing ruler work on my longarm. I ended up returning this ruler and went with some QS ones instead-this one is just a little too short and I would have had to reposition it a lot.

You can do a million things with this. Love it.
This is one HANDY dandy ruler. Very versatile and useful - I couldn't believe how much could be done with it. Google Versa tool and Penny Olive for a series of Youtube videos on the use of this ruler. I have a low shank machine, and my only wish is that it came in a 1/8 in thickness, but I can still use it enough to love it. Highly recommend this - clam shell, V, straight edge and a scallop. Nice markings so you can keep your place and know how to maneuver the ruler.

Not Suitable for a Low Shank Sewing Machine
This is a very well-made tool and has provides multiple templates for free motion quilting with a ruler. However, it is difficult to use with low shank sewing machines because of the 1/4" thickness, which limits the placement of the tool relative to the ruler foot. It can't be placed anywhere near the rear of the foot because it bangs into the set screw or the shank. It's usable (with caution), but not easy. I don't fault the tool. As a person just learning free motion quilting, I was not aware of the problem inherent in these 1/4" thick rulers and their incompatibility with low shank machines. They were designed for the long-arm quilters and I'm sure it works beautifully for them. If this tool was available in the 4mm thickness, I would buy it and recommend it.
