Q: What is the package date, and germinate rate on date of packaging?

All of these have been packaged in April-May of 2023. Later batches will include packaging dates. The germination rates vary by seed variety, but all have been tested and show to exceed national standards. For example the germination rate for beans will be much higher than some herbs, naturally. If any issues with a specific variety not germinating, please email us and we can help you or send a replacement if necessary. Good question!

Q: Can you provide details on the anticipated shelf life of the kit?

If stored properly, they could be stored for 20 years without noticeable impact to germination rates. Frozen storage is by far the best for long term. You can just put the entire container in your freezer, and no worries! If you decided to store in room temperature, your seeds will viable for a minimum of 5 years. Assuming there are no extreme temperatures, you won’t have a storage issue, this is a sturdy plastic "ammo can" which is light and won't rust, with a gasket seal for the lid that closes securely. The seeds inside are individually packed and sealed, and are in turn are placed within a very durable and resealable mylar bag with desiccant packets. So given all that, this is as good of a practical, long term storage solution as most any other seed storage approach. Research has shown that even corn, oats, wheat, pumpkins, etc. seeds can be planted and grown even if the seeds are over 50 years old. Thanks for your interest!
