Fun educational tool, that can hold a child’s attention.
Extremely cool product, a great educational toy/tool. Simply scan over any place in the globe and you will be told about; tourism, economics, animals and customs of that location in the world. My grandson is eight and he is already quite bright, but this tool/toy is really increasing his knowledge of the world outside of his town, state and country.

Fun and Educational.
I got this for my social studies loving 8 year old child. It was semi-easy to use and very educational. It is sturdy and the colors are bright and attention-grabbing.

Stars are hard to capture with the iPad. Too small.
Great idea, but hard to figure out what you are supposed to do with it. My 5 year old grand daughter played with it for maybe 3 mins and was over it. The stars are hard to capture with the iPad. Maybe she needs to be older.

Great product, despite some negative reviews out there.
This project has a strange mixing of extreme positive and negative reviews, particularly recently. Now, some of those negative reviews are due to people who are complaining without buying it because they say the earth is flat... so if that's your viewpoint, let's just say you shouldn't buy a globe but shouldn't be reviewing one either. Go review a map or something. But those aside, there are still some really negative reviews, which sometimes makes me skeptical of whether the positive reviews are real or if those people got it for free, etc. As a result, I was skeptical when I bought this, but my verdict is that I love it. And more importantly, our 6 year old daughter does. I know several reviewers have complained about the buggy app, so I think it may not work on as many different phones and operating systems as Shifu claims. I know I tried to install it on my daughter's "phone" (and yes, my 6 year old daughter has a phone but it's our old iPhone 6 with the SIM card removed that just has music and education apps installed on it), the app did NOT work correctly, even though the phone is running the current iOS version. However, I put it on my iPhone 8 and had NO issues finding it, installing it or using it. Considering our 6 year old can and does use my phone by herself to use and learn about various places around the globe, it seems to be designed to work pretty easily for most people. So I highly recommend it. I was a little skeptical about the whole "globe with no countries" thing that I've also seen some people complain about. I'm definitely not into new-age education (in fact I'm a college business professor), but I don't have a problem with it. I think the globe would be too busy if it had all the country lines AND the pictures on it designed to captivate kids attention. And when you use the app to learn about a place, you can see country flags and whatnot. Maybe in a future version it can show you the country boundaries if you want to see them, which would be nice.

Educational and fun - my kids love it
Our Orboot arrived this week, and I couldn't be happier. The recommended age is 4+, but it is a big hit with my twin 2.5-year-olds. Obviously, they can't use it without help, but once the app captures the stars on the globe, they love to interact with the features on the app. They wake up asking for sharks and turtles because the app lets you feed them and move them around. They're obsessed. This AR toy gave me a great opportunity to help my little ones and learn with them. The information included with each star is for slightly older kids, but I was able to pull some of the facts to share and point out while we explored together. The globe isn't heavy like a traditional globe, but it is pretty sturdy. My kids aren't gentle at their age, and it is holding up nicely. We travel a lot, and I can't wait to pull this out for each trip we take. It will make where we go more memorable before we even hit the road. This is more than just learning where to find something on a map. It is about learning the culture, animals, food and so much more. Each globe comes with a passport, passport stickers, and a Visa stamp to mark where they have "traveled". My husband is from Brazil, and it was such a big deal when they could put the Brazilian flag sticker in their passport. This is such a great interactive augmented reality toy, and I feel sure we will use it for years to come.
