Fun to build with the kids!!
Great little father son project. My little man loves the robot and has expressed in joining a robotics team since the build. Directions were clear and was just an overall good bonding experience for us!!!

Brilliant Brain, Fragile Bones
The concept of Kai: The Artificial Intelligence Robot is undeniably cool. It promises a hands-on dive into the world of machine learning and AI that is actually accessible for kids. However, while the software and educational value hit the mark, the hardware struggles to keep up with the pace. The Good: A Genius in the Making From an educational standpoint, this kit is a winner. It effectively bridges the gap between "scary complex tech" and "fun weekend project." Intuitive Learning: The app-enabled interface (compatible with iOS and Android) makes teaching Kai gestures and sounds a blast. True AI Experience: It doesn’t just follow a script; seeing the robot "learn" through machine learning is a genuine "aha!" moment for kids and parents alike. The Bad: Durability Issues This is where the excitement hits a speed bump. For a robot designed to move and interact, the build quality is disappointing. Weak Plastic: After only a few successful runs, we noticed the plastic on the legs beginning to stress and eventually break. DIY Repairs: We had to resort to using heavy-duty glue just to keep Kai standing. For a premium educational toy, you shouldn't need a tube of Super Glue in the toolkit just to maintain basic functionality. The Verdict Kai is a bit of a "glass cannon." The AI logic and programming side is 10/10, but the physical construction is closer to a 4/10. If you have a child who is incredibly gentle and more interested in the coding than the "robot battles," this is a fantastic educational tool. But if you’re looking for a robust robot that can handle the rigors of daily play, you might find yourself doing more mechanical repairs than actual machine learning. Pro Tip: Keep the glue handy from Day 1, and try to run Kai on smooth, low-friction surfaces to minimize the stress on those leg joints.

Great food for young brains
Lots of fun for my grandkids- the two girls love it as much as the three boys do- all between 2 and 12

makes a great STEM gift
Got this as a gift for our niece to get her interested in STEM/robotics. She seems to have liked it a lot and spent quality time building it with her dad.

Not worth the work for assembly.
Too much work for assembly. It takes 3 hours at best, but truly, 3 to 4 hours. And the assembly is not educational for a 12 year old but tedious and almost surely will end up with the parent taking the helm. Parts are fragile, and thus one slight error can ruin. It is just not worth it. Bang for the buck, on work for product-- take a pass. Do not buy it. Instead, buy a fully assembled robot!
